Quirkless.

A minority in the world.

20% of the world have no Quirk.

But realistically that number is wrong.

18% of the world's Quirkless are over 50. Born in a time where the numbers were slightly more even.

The rest?

The last 2% are those born Quirkless and under 50.

But even so the numbers of living Quirkless under 50 are actually more in the half a percent range.

Why?

Discrimination.

Bulling.

Abuse.

Murder.

Suicide.

Most of the Quirkless born in the current day and age either get killed, or kill themselves before 15.

Izuku... Is Quirkless.

He was born of a time long since dead.

Turning from the computer and slipping off the chair, Izuku's tiny legs barely reached the floor even as he scooched off the chair.

The confused but sad boy entered the living room where his mother was watching the news.

"Mommy?" Izuku called even as he came around the couch.

"Yes sweetie?" She pulled him up onto the couch.

"Why does everyone hate Quirkless people?" Her hands freeze before sliding to her lap.

"W-What makes you think nobody likes Quirkless people Izuku?"

Izuku wordlessly pointed at the TV where a kid with red shoes was being beaten on live TV and a Hero ignored it.

The same red shoes that currently sit at the front door.

Detnarat is the only company in Japan that manufacturers the shoes. They're the only shoes that are still made with a bit of extra space in the end for a Quirkless person's slightly longer toe compared to those with Quirks.

Izuku has a second bone in his foot no Quirked people with a Transformation or Emitter type Quirk has.

Some Mutation Quirks have the joint but also have major physically obvious Quirks that make the easy seen bright red shoes redundant to look for.

But nobody tries to pretend Detnarat was doing it out of the goodness of their own hearts, the shoes cost three times as much as normal shoes. And are the easiest way to identify a Quirkless in the street. Like a massive neon sign on our feet that screams 'Quirkless right here!'.

"Well... Quirks are a sign of evolution. And those without a Quirk are considered... Weak and dumb"

"So if I show I'm smart I won't be hated? I'm really smart!" Izuku smiled a bit as he came to the incorrect  conclusion.

"It doesn't work like that sweetie, humans have always been a... Closed minded group. They fear that which is different. And since they fear it, they try to make it... Go away"

"But... Why not try to make friends with the different thing? They might just want to be friends"

"Because humans aren't very logical. Now. I need to get started on dinner, how about I put on some cartoons for a bit?"

Izuku nodded and she changed it to the kids channel before going into the kitchen.

He sat there for an hour before Inko called him over to the kitchen table to eat.
