Kabir's Perspective

The evening of the Sangeet function was finally here, and I could feel the anticipation buzzing in the air. The courtyard had been transformed into a dazzling celebration space, adorned with colorful drapes, twinkling fairy lights, and fragrant flowers that filled the air with sweet scents. Laughter and chatter mixed with the upbeat sounds of Bollywood music, creating a vibrant atmosphere that promised an unforgettable night.

As I stepped into the courtyard, my heart raced. Raghav and Sahil were already stationed by the snack table, plates piled high with delicious treats in one hand and bottles of beer in the other. They were engrossed in their usual banter, the laughter echoing around us.

"Look who finally decided to grace us with his presence!" Raghav called out, his grin wide and teasing. "Kabir, you might need a whole bottle of beer to survive this evening, especially with Aditi around!"

"Or at least a few shots of something strong," Sahil chimed in, taking a large bite of a samosa with exaggerated delight. "You're going to be a stuttering mess when she walks in."

"Very funny, guys," I replied, shaking my head but unable to suppress a smile. The camaraderie between us made me feel a bit more at ease, but the thought of Aditi made my pulse quicken. "I'm just here to enjoy the evening."

"Enjoy? More like endure!" Raghav teased, slapping me on the back. "Just remember to breathe when she walks in. We don't want you fainting from shock."

As I grabbed a snack and tried to act casual, the lights suddenly flickered and went out, plunging us into darkness. A collective gasp echoed through the crowd, and I exchanged a nervous glance with Raghav and Sahil.

"Perfect timing for a horror movie," I quipped, trying to lighten the mood while we waited for the lights to return.

Just when I thought we might be stuck in the dark, the lights flickered back on, illuminating the courtyard once more. And then, like a scene straight out of a movie, Aditi entered.

The moment she stepped into the spotlight, my breath caught in my throat. She wore a breathtaking peach lehenga that shimmered with every graceful movement, reminiscent of Kareena Kapoor's iconic outfit in "Bole Chudiyan" from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The delicate embroidery glistened under the lights, and her long hair cascaded in soft waves over her shoulders. She looked stunning, and I felt a rush of admiration that sent my heart racing.

As the upbeat rhythm of "Bole Chudiyan" filled the air, Aditi began to dance. Twirling gracefully, her lehenga flowed around her like a beautiful cloud, capturing the attention of everyone present. Cheers erupted from the crowd, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as I watched her shine.

"Look at her!" I whispered to Raghav and Sahil, unable to hide my admiration. "She's incredible."

"Dude, you're going to have to step up your game. That's your girl out there!" Sahil grinned, nudging me playfully.

As Aditi danced, her cousins joined her, creating a lively atmosphere. First came Anaya, her younger sister, who danced alongside her with youthful energy. Then Arushi and Ridhima joined in, the four of them creating a whirlwind of laughter and movement as they danced to "London Thumakda," "Gallan Goodiyaan," and "Saudagar Sauda Kar." Each song added to the festive spirit, drawing more and more guests into the courtyard.

Aditi's father stepped in next, lifting her into the air as "Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko" played, their laughter echoing in the courtyard. It was a beautiful sight, a precious moment of connection between them, and my heart swelled with warmth.
