I felt someone shaking me and I peaked my eye open to see Beyoncé standing over me.

"We have to go to class." She mumbled and turned away from me. I just turned my back to her and stayed in bed. I wasn't in the mood to go to class.

I just didn't  have the energy. She just kept shaking my leg until I started moving.

"Onika let's go." She pulled the covers off of me. I pulled them back over me. I heard her huff.

"Onika, you are a med student. Missing One day of class for you is like an entire week. Not to mention clinical." She said to me.

I hated the fact that she was right. If I did not meet the clinical requirements, there was no chance I was getting in. I'll have to do the course all over and I definitely don't want to repeat a thing. That's just pushing me back.

I pulled myself out of the bed and dragged to the bathroom. I started the shower water, so it can get warm as i used the bathroom.

After washing my hands, I noticed the bags underneath my eyes get lighter. I've been prioritizing sleep and you know as a nursing student that's basically nonexistent.

Not for me though. I like to put myself first. I'm going to sleep by all means.

"20 minutes before we have to leave the house." I heard her say as she walked in the bathroom briefly. I nodded and hopped in the shower.

I knew how timely Beyoncé can be for class so I made sure I stayed in the shower for at 10 minutes and spent the other 10 minutes getting dressed.

I grabbed my bag and rushed down the stairs. I ran into the kitchen and grabbed my drinks and snacks for the day, racing outside. She was in the car waiting for me, on her phone.

"Solange did I tell you anything was wrong?"

"No but your posts and you distancing yourself is."

"I'll fine So, I swear. Onika and I have to get to class so I'll talk to you later." Solange told me hi before she hung up the phone.

Beyoncé pulled away from the driveway and instantly turned the music on, like it's always been for the last couple weeks between us—silence.

I sat in the passenger seat uncomfortably as I ate on my breakfast bar. I was so used to running my mouth about something while riding to school with her. I just knew speaking to her now would give an unwanted response.
