For the sake of the plot and the consistency, the dogs are not living 8 to 13 years in this story like they would live in real life. But their lifespan is similar to that of humans in this story.

The Lookout is silent, an uncommon hush settling over the normally lively space as the team of pups and their leader, Ryder, gather around the TV. The news anchor's voice, strained with thinly veiled terror, fills the room, echoing the weight of the headline sprawled across the screen: "Our Planet in Peril: Asteroid on Course to Impact Earth in 50 Years."

Ryder watches the screen, his fingers gripping the remote tightly, as if his hold could somehow alter the devastating reality unfolding before them. The camera pans to a rendering of the massive asteroid, a hunk of cosmic rock, wide enough to cast an ominous shadow over the entire globe, projected to strike Earth with enough force to extinguish life itself.

The camera cuts back to the anchor, who's visibly shaken. "Scientists estimate that the asteroid's current trajectory will bring it into direct collision with Earth within the next fifty years. Without immediate intervention, this impact would result in a global extinction event."

Marshall shifts nervously, his usual playful energy dampened. Everest, sitting close beside him, reaches over, giving his paw a reassuring squeeze. The room is heavy with tension, each pup processing the news in their own way.

"What... what do we even do?" Skye's voice is a whisper, her eyes wide with fear and uncertainty.
Chase's gaze lingers on her, a surge of protective instinct and something else, something deeper, flaring within him. But he swallows hard, keeping his composure, his focus fixed on the challenge at hand.

Rocky, the team's science whiz, clears his throat. "Actually, our options are... limited." His tone is serious, analytical. "An impact from something that size would release enough energy to wipe out all major ecosystems. The only solution, " he pauses, his eyes flicking to Ryder ", is to leave Earth."
"Leave Earth?" Rubble echoes, the weight of it heavy in his voice.

"Yes," Rocky says, nodding. "There are initiatives we could consider: terraforming, space migration, finding a stable planet. But we'd need technology, advanced technology." He gestures to the screen. "Something like this will take all of humanity's cooperation and resources. And... the time we have isn't much. If we want to survive, we'd need to start now."

Ryder rubs his temples, feeling the pressure mounting. "We'll have to talk to Mayor Goodway. Maybe there's something we can contribute. We've been through disasters before, but this..."

Skye shifts closer to Chase, her voice trembling. "Chase, this is... this is bigger than any mission we've ever done. Do you think we can actually make a difference?"

Chase meets her gaze, his chest tightening as he absorbs the gravity in her eyes. The words catch in his throat, but before he can answer, a familiar voice crackles through the Lookout's radio.

"PAW Patrol, please report to Town Hall immediately. I need you all!" Mayor Goodway's voice is filled with urgency and an uncharacteristic edge of fear.

Ryder gives the team a nod. "Let's go, pups. We'll figure this out together."

Town Hall Meeting

The Town Hall is buzzing with anxious townspeople, all huddled together, each face etched with fear and uncertainty. The air is thick with tension, and as the PAW Patrol enters, all eyes turn toward them, a mixture of hope and desperation in their gazes.

Mayor Goodway stands at the front, a map of Earth and several diagrams strewn across a table before her. As the team approaches, she gives a solemn nod, her usual warmth replaced with a fierce determination.

"Thank you for coming, PAW Patrol," she begins, glancing at each of them in turn. "Our world needs you now more than ever. We've received word from astrophysicists that there's a new space base near Foggy Bottom. They're already working on early stages of space exploration, and they need a team to help, our best and bravest."
Ryder straightens, his face resolute, though his mind races. "Mayor Goodway, we're ready to do whatever it takes."

A small, proud smile pulls at the corner of her mouth, but it fades as she continues, her gaze falling upon the pups. "This mission requires a division of forces," she says, her voice thick with emotion. "Some of you will stay here on Earth, helping to prepare and protect those who will remain. And the others..." she glances at Ryder, then back to the pups. "The others will travel into space to search for new planets."

The gravity of her words settles over the group. Ryder's brows knit, and he looks around at his team, feeling the weight of the decision that's being thrust upon them. His family, his team, divided.
"Mayor Goodway, are you sure we can't-"

She holds up a hand, her gaze steady. "Ryder, this is bigger than us. We must do this, for the future. For our children. They deserve the chance to live without fear."
Her words settle in Chase's heart like an anchor, each syllable resonating with a truth he can't ignore. He feels a strange mix of dread and resolve welling up inside of him, stronger than any fear he's felt before.

A hundred thoughts spiral through his mind, but one feeling overshadows all else, his gaze shifts, almost instinctively, to Skye. The realization hits him with a force stronger than any asteroid: if there's one thing he can't leave unsaid, it's how he feels about her. If there was ever a time to tell her, it's now.

"We need to give them everything we've got," Rocky says, breaking the silence as he steps forward, looking Ryder in the eye. "If we're going into space, we need research, supplies... and a launch base. I've read about the facility near Foggy Bottom, and I think it might be our best shot."
"Rocky's right," Ryder says, taking a deep breath. "If we're going to do this, we'll need all the help we can get."

Mayor Goodway nods, gesturing to a large map she has laid out. "Then I'll show you everything. The base, the scientists... they're ready to brief you."

The team listens, transfixed, as she details the plans, the blueprints, and the gravity of their mission. This isn't just about Adventure Bay anymore, it's about survival, about giving humanity a fighting chance. But as Chase tries to absorb the enormity of it all, he feels his gaze drifting once more toward Skye.

As the meeting closes, Mayor Goodway places a hand on Ryder's shoulder. "We're counting on you, Ryder. And on you, PAW Patrol. You're not just saving Adventure Bay this time. You're saving the future."

The team exits the Town Hall in silence, the weight of the conversation hanging heavily on them. Ryder places a hand on Chase's shoulder, his voice quiet. "Chase, are you okay?"

Chase gives a half-hearted nod. "Yeah, Ryder. It's just..." His eyes drift toward Skye, who stands a few steps away, staring up at the sky. "I think... I have something I need to do."

Ryder follows his gaze and gives Chase a gentle smile. "Then don't wait. This is the time."

Taking a deep breath, Chase steps toward Skye, his heart pounding. The world may be facing its end, but as he stands beside her, watching the stars begin to dot the evening sky, he knows that for him, this moment, this confession, is the beginning of something he's been holding back for too long.
