Its Grammy nomination day, my mom is submitted for I think 9 and im submitted for 4. Best New Artist, Collaboration of the year, Record of the Year and Best Music video. Im against my mom for 1 of them and I think that that's funny. I didn't think I was going to be nominated for any but here we are. We Aunt Tree called saying the I got nominated there might have been a lot of happy tears. Now I just have to wait 4 months until the Grammys.
It's Grammy day
Im sitting next to my mom as we both get our hair and makeup done. Dad and drew are struggling to keep me and my mom from seeing our phones, people have been saying things about the four of us. I know because when I go onto my Finsta, its everywhere. Im being called a slut for having an album about my ex boyfriend who committed and then not even 5 months later having an album about my new boyfriend. But they need to see. THATS ITS BEEN TWO FREAKING YEARS!
" Taylor baby I love you you can not see this its awful. " My dad said to her. " I will tell you after the awards but you can't go seeing this and then go out there. Im not gonna let you so right now. You have to take my phone. I have parent locks on it because of Jason's girls. You can not go onto anything except to text us, and to take photos. Promise me that." He was near crying. She nodded and wiped his face. Drew looks over at me and is about to take my phone.
" Dont even bother. I've seen it already. I was on Instagram already and I honestly saw it before. But mom please don't go looking. Its awful. " Drew just hugs me. I can't cry because a) my make up is to expensive b) I dont want my mom to worry.
" Hey daisy you ready? " The back stage director asked me. Im opening and its honestly kinda crazy. I nod hand drew my stuff and head back stage.
" Please welcome Daisy Mae Kelce Swift! " The host said.
I started singing the walk back.
"never thought that this how we ended it walked in together but walked out my self I just remember the walk back to your car now its just the walk back to my house all alone the most dreaded part back was the walk calling me won't help so stop first you took my hand than you took my heart and then you broke the only thing I could trust!" I might have scream sung that last part. " I didn't know that you could have the audacity to go and do that to me. We were everything we were made to be. And now your off with some other girl. Don't treat her like me. Don't make her suffer through her walk back. Don't tell her she not worth it anymore. You don't get to be apart of her, until you get your own. Walk back." I never thought that I would be this mad singing a song about something that happened to one of my best friends. I finish the songs and head to my dressing room to touch up my makeup and breath for a second.
I head back out and meet up with everyone. Aunt Sel and Lana are with my mom.
" Hi mommy! " I saw giving her a hug. We have both been so busy this week so its kinda crazy. They are about to start with the award shows so we all go to the table. It goes by and my mom has won most of hers but the categories that I'm nominated for haven't gone yet.
" And you nominees for best new artists are Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Daisy Mae Kelce Swift, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, and Sexyy Red!" Aunt Selena was announcing the winner. " And the Grammy goes to ... Daisy Mae Kelce Swift! " My jaw dropped. My first grammy. Holy crap!
" This is, this is my first Grammy you guys! Thank you so much for making me your best new artist! I love you all so much! Thank you! " I mocked my moms first Grammy acceptance speech.
"Your nominee's for best collaboration are Benson Boone and Daisy Mae Kelce Swift - Left the light on," I dont hear the other nominations but I'm honestly hoping me and Benson win. " The Grammy goes to... Benson Boone and Daisy Mae Kelce Swift! " I stand up and try and find Benson but he isn't here so I call him and walk on stage.
" Benson! Guess what?" I put the phone on speaker and put it up to the mic.
" Daisy! What?" He says back to me. Me and Benson and like besties.
" We just won best collaboration at the grammys! " He just screams. " Turn on the tv and you will see me giving a speech!"
" Oh my god that's my first Grammy! Ahhh thank you so much daisy for everything and to everyone thank you!!! " he says. He is sick so he couldn't be here but its the same reaction.
" Thank you everyone! " I say and head down to my mom.
My mom wins everything she is nominated for and so do I. Well I mean not the one I was against her for but like coming home with 13 Grammy s doesn't suck.
