Sorry, this is more of a filler chapter and kinda boring. The next chapter, I'll try to write more interesting stuff.

Cale was very confused.

He was currently being squished between a Dark Elf and a Dragon, both of whom were sobbing in a very undignified manner.

(Of course, Eruhaben still looked as beautiful as ever while crying quite gracefully into his shoulder. It was mostly Alberu, who looked like a mess. Cale almost pitied him, but then remembered he was the same guy who threatened him with the prime minister position.)

Cale tried to wriggle out of the uncomfortable situation, but the two were holding onto him tightly.

Now, don't get Cale wrong; he knew "his" death had taken a toll on everyone, especially the children, from what he had learned before he was imprisoned. But Alberu had a kingdom to lead, and Eruhaben had lived a long life; they had better things to do than be stuck up on his "death." Two years must've been enough time for the two adults to move on.

(Oh, how wrong he was.

Because little did he know, their determination and love for Cale knew no bounds, as they were willing to defy fate itself to bring him back. The bond they shared with him was unbreakable, driving them to find a way to reunite with their beloved family member.

Well, what he doesn't know will not hurt him.

Not when there's no one to bring back from the dead.)

"Here it is, dongsaeng." Alberu says as he hands him the spatial-dimension bag that hasn't been used or opened in two years.

Cale's eyes brightened as he felt the familiar feeling of his bag in his hands, a mischievous smirk growing on his face.

They were the only ones at the villa right now, as Eruhaben and Choi Han have gone to "take care" of some things. Cale only heard mutters of "...Death's vow..." and "...Take more percussions this time..." before his gut told him it would bring trouble, so he tuned them out. And Cale trusts his gut feeling of premonition when it comes to getting into unnecessary trouble.

(...Liar, liar pants of fi—actually, Cale, you've been through enough already. You don't need your pants of fire on top of that.)

"Thank you so much, Your Imperial Majesty! Just by seeing how humble and generous you are to help even this insignificant citizen of yours, I just know that my nation is in good—no, wonderful hands!" He added a bright smile at the end, just to establish his point further.

However, he didn't see Alberu's usual ticked-off expression or hear any annoyed words commanding him to shut up like he was used to. In fact, Alberu had numerous opportunities to interrupt Cale during his glib speech, but surprisingly, he still chose not to do so.

The crown prince-turned-emperor—as he was informed by Choi Han on the way here—just froze up for a good couple of seconds. After getting out of his stupor, he slowly sat down on a couch and patted the place beside him, inviting the redhead to join him.

Cale complied, sitting down, and feeling the blonde man's left arm gently wrap around his shoulders. He felt even more perplexed, but seeing the haggard expression on Alberu's face, he decided it was something to look into later.

For now, Cale had a good view of the emperor's face, and it dawned on him that Alberu's worn out appearance bore a striking resemblance to his appearance during the final battle with the White Star.
