For the second detention, Albus was paired with nobody. Scorpius was nowhere to be seen. It was only two days later that Albus found out that Scorpius had been serving detentions all week in Mcgonagall's office.

Albus found himself having a lot of free periods during the day. He had no worry for time, and he could do whatever he liked. However, he somehow found himself doing the opposite.

Albus and Rose were sat in the courtyard, hiding under a small willow tree as autumn rain began to pour down. Albus liked the autumn rain, it wasn't like winter where it began flooding everything. It was light, just enough so it doesn't affect your everyday activities.

"So are you friends with him now?" Rose spoke up, completely changing the topic.

Albus took a glance at her, shaking his head violently.

"No, we haven't spoke since then."

It annoyed Albus, the fact that he was so close to getting Scorpius to open up. He was proud of himself that he had basically gotten Scorpius to confirm the fact that they would eventually become friends, just whenever the blond was ready. Albus found it amusing, the fact that Scorpius planned these things.

As the days went on, Albus was becoming less and less intrigued by the Malfoy. Obviously, he was still always watching him, making sure Scorpius was acting correctly. The Malfoy didn't do much; he just sat down at the table staring into the distance at meals or completed his work in classes.

"I've seen him with Thalia today," Rose smirked. "I think they'll get together."

Albus scoffed loudly. "She follows him around like a lost dog; I'd be irritated by it by now."

Rose laughed, "Maybe he likes the attention? Or maybe he just needs someone to pull him out of his shell."

"Yeah, but it's not like he's doing anything to encourage it," Albus replied, shaking his head. "He just seems... lost, you know? Like he's still trying to figure everything out after the fight."

"True," Rose said, her expression softening. "Does he regret it? The fight?"

Albus shrugged, still skeptical. "I guess, but I'd do the same if somebody spoke about my Mum like that. I wouldn't be as brutal, but I'd definitely start something."

"Viktor is in a state, if you showed up at breakfast you'd know."

"What does he look like?" Albus queried, a slight smile on his face.

"Black eye, busted lip, bruises everywhere..." Rose described briefly, "Madam Pomfrey isn't going to waste her time fixing little things like that."

"I don't feel bad for him." Albus stated confidently, watching Rose snap her head towards him, "He deserved it, and I'm glad it was Malfoy that did the deed."

"He went psycho." Rose was stern, "Scorpius isn't quite right, he's like a ticking time bomb."

"I think he's had it hard in his life." Albus shrugged, "I don't think he's as bad as everyone makes him out to be."

"You're biased." Rose nudged her cousin, "It's okay! I'd be biased too if he pinned me up against the wall and said thank you to me. How endearing."

Rose pulled off her joke, watching Albus roll his eyes. He knew he shouldn't have told Rose about that, it should have stayed between Scorpius and himself.

"He's quite attractive, isn't he?" Rose smiled, "Shame his personality is a bit.."

"Shitty?" Albus finished, watching his cousin nod with agreement, "I think he's nice. Scorpius hasn't done any wrong by me."
