Chapter 8

Chapter 8- Promises Were Meant to be Broken

"Well? Oliver, I'm waiting for you to answer me" Regie glared at him as Oliver scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Why do I have to answer you, if you know my answer" Reggie kept glaring at him "You know and the guys talked about this.. That we're not gonna let this girl separate us. We are a team Oliver" Oliver looked down and gazed at him "Then we can forget about that.. It's obvious that you like her Reg" He paused. "I'm not giving her up, not just yet" Y/n came out and saw Reggie as she smiled "Hey, Reggie. Wanna come with?" Y/n suggested "He's busy munchkin, let's go"

"Oh, okay.. see ya Reggie" Y/n smiled as she entered Oliver's car.

Later that Night

Y/n was cleaning the counter when she heard the door open and they sat in front of her. She looked and saw Kane as she smiled "Hey, Kane" Kane waved and smiled as he sat down on a stool "Waiting for someone?" Kane nodded excitedly "She's an otaku like me, she likes music like me and she agreed on a date with me tonight" Y/n raised her eyebrow "So.. the best place you can think of was taking her here where I work??" Kane smiled "Oops.. this is the only fancy restaurant I could find" She sighed "Jackass" He did a cutesy face "Guilty as charged" Y/n rolled her eyes as she went to take the other customer's orders.

As the night passed by as Y/n saw Kane getting drunk on every champagne he ordered. Closing time came by and she sighed as she walked up towards Kane "Kane? I think that's enough.." Kane turned around with tears on his cheeks, Y/n sat down next to him and hugged him tightly "It's okay Kane.. she wasn't worth your time" Y/n comforted him "C'mon let's take you home.." Y/n picked up his jacket and with all her strength she helped Kane to stand up "Crap!" She stumbled against the chair "That's gonna leave a bruise" She sighed. "C'mon Kane!" They made it to the parking lot and saw Kane's car as she searched in his pockets while she looked for the keys, her phone rang. It was Darren, calling her and she reached for her phone after placing a drunk Kane in the top of the hood and answered the car.

"What's up, Dar-dar?" She spoke into the phone as she fixed Kane back on the hood. "I wanted to know what you were doing?" Y/n sighed but still smiled as she placed her stuff on the ground and carried Kane towards the passenger seat. "Hey Darren, are you busy at the moment?" She asked she struggled to open the car "Hijo de tu-" Darren heard her cussed in Spanish "Everything's okay?" Y/n sighed as it was the millionth time doing so "Darren, Kane got drunk in the restaurant I work at as he was waiting for a date and umm I just pinched my arm with the door"

"I'll be there-" Y/n cut him off "No meet me at my house, okay?" Darren agreed and hung up as she placed her phone in her pocket and finally managed to get Kane in the car. She placed her and Kane's stuff in the backseat as she hopped in the driver's seat and then began driving to her house.

A few moments later, Y/n made it to her house after knocking Kane out. Darren saw Kane's state "Don't ask" She spoke in a cold tone as Darren raised his hands in surrender. "What happened?" Y/n looked at Kane "He was waiting on a date but in the end, he got stood up by her" She spoke annoyed "She's not worth his time, really" Darren said as Y/n nodded "Then while waiting for her, he got drunk" Darren shook his head and chuckled "This reminds me of you N/n?" Y/n quickly turned her head "How?"

FLASHBACK

9 YEARS AGO

.There was an end of the year party, Y/n and Darren were about around 16 or 15 by the time. Y/n was popular around those years and Darren was a nerd. Darren was hanging out in the library when Y/n found him reading a book "You always have a book up to your nose don't you?" Darren looked up to her and smiled as he nodded. "Hey, my parents are having an end of the year party, wanna come?" Darren raised an eyebrow "You're asking me instead of your other friends?" She nodded and smiled "Honestly.. I rather have you than them.. they have bad vibes for me" Y/n chuckled "So?" He nodded "Good! See you at 7!" Darren smiled as he watched Y/n walk away.

Y/n smiled as she opened her locker and saw a letter fall out of her locker. She picked it up and read it as her lips curled a bit then she placed it in her binder. The day of the party rolled in, Y/n was making the last preparations for her parent's party and she had invited Darren and her boyfriend. Hours and hours passed, and everyone was there, chatting until midnight hit and everyone started cheering and hugging each other. Y/n looked down as she ran upstairs, upset that her boyfriend never showed up to the party. She lay down on her bed and cried as someone knocked on her door.

"Go away!" She shouted. "It's me, N/n" A voice spoke softly throughout the door, Y/n stood up and opened the door. Darren saw his friend broken in pieces as she looked away "May I come in?" Y/n nodded and let him through "Sorry.. that you had to see me like this" He shook his head "Don't worry.. N/n" He sat down next to her "Where's your boyfriend?" Y/n stayed silent and looked away "He never came.." Darren hugged her as she cried silently on his shoulder "Shhh.."

A few minutes later, Y/n fell asleep on his lap as a notification on his phone popped and it showed a picture of Y/n's boyfriend with another girl, kissing. Darren got pissed and blocked Y/n's boyfriend on his social media and grabbed Y/n's phone as he deleted her boyfriend's number and social media. "Fuck him.. Y/n.. you can do better.." He mumbled. "You know?" She whispered as he nodded "Go back to sleep, N/n"
