"Shinra Tensei!" 5 ANBU were blasted away from Naruto's position violently. Naruto was panting in exhaustion, as were the ANBU. 'What kind of monster is Hokage-sama creating!?' Naruto ran through the hand signs for the summoning jutsu, quickly summoning a massive centipede with Rinnegan eyes. The ANBU jump back, while Naruto stayed put, taking every second the centipede would buy him to rest.
All five ANBU ran through a dozen hand signs and shouted simultaneously:
"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Bullet!"
"Thunder Release: Thunder Dragon Bullet!"
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"
"Earth Release: Mud Dragon Bullet!"
"Wind Release: Wind Dragon Bullet!"
The five dragons rocketed toward the centipede easily grinding through it. Naruto watched as the elemental abominations slithered across the trained ground, destroying the land as they went. Naruto lifted his hand, channel a small amount of chakra into his eyes. The five dragons hit his fist, only to rapidly disappear, absorbed into the Rinnegan. Naruto channeled chakra into his hands, running through 60 hand signs faster than should be possible.
"Thankyou for the gift. Here! Have my own!" Naruto clapped his hands as 5 dragons molded into existence behind him. "Elemental Release: Elemental Dragon Barrage!" The dragons were almost twice the size of what was sent at him. 'How is such a thing possible?! How did he create such a jutsu on the fly?!' The five ANBU all broke to the side, desperately attempting to escape the elemental dragons. One of the ANBU was caught in the jutsu, taking a severe injury. The ANBU disappeared, going to Konoha General to receive treatment for the injury. "One down, four to go." The four pounced as Naruto made three clones. The Naruto's all threw Fuma Shuriken enhanced by his own Wind Release. He ran through four hand signs, watching as the five Shuriken turned into hundreds. The four Naruto's drew short blades as the ANBU used the substitution to escape. The shuriken shredded into the ground before all of them began to glow, Fuinjutsu markings spreading across the blade.
Boom!
A large explosion shook the training ground and the surrounding area as what amounted to hundreds of explosive tags went off all at once. The four remaining ANBU were briefly stunned. The brief moment was too long however, as the four Naruto appeared behind each of the ANBU, pressing his tanto against their throats.
They were defeated. "It was a grueling fight." All four of the Naruto spoke at once. "I've got to admit, if the Rinnegan wasn't so powerful, I would've needed to break out my family jutsu. Great work." The clones disappeared as they all went to Konoha General to get patched up.
It had been 4 months since Kakashi's death. Hiruzen had managed to delay the Chunin exams by 3 months. Naruto had one month to complete his mission. He had been training with Hiruzen everyday, but like before he was still Hokage. Although he pushed Naruto a lot harder, making him use his head and not just his power, he couldn't do it alone. He once again fell on his ANBU squadron. Today he had finally completed his final test and trial. Defeating the current ANBU Captains one vs five. Naruto had attempted it five times already, but now he had a run to become the ANBU Commander for Konoha.
'With this, I qualify to take over Danzo's ROOT. I'll need to inform Sensei.' After getting patched up, Naruto went strait to the Hokage's office. Hiruzen didn't even flinch when Naruto appeared in front of him. "Congratulations, Naruto. I'm immensely proud to see you come so far so fast." Naruto scratched the back of his head awkwardly. He never could get used to the old man's praise. "It's nothing much... I'm your student after all!" Hiruzen nodded. "Anyway, I'm definitely ready to take that one eyed bastard down." Hiruzen nodded, a grim look on his face. "Set something up tonight, will you?" Hiruzen shrugged his shoulders. "I swear after this is done you better make me a Jonin. I want a month off too!" Hiruzen gave a hearty belly laugh before nodding. "Sure, Naruto! Hell, if you pull this mission off flawlessly, I'll make you my advisor in Danzo's place." Both of them began to laugh at the thought of the look those high strung council members would have when they saw Naruto amongst them.
"Anyway, Naruto. Go rest for now. when the sun sets, you must be behind the Hokage Monument." Naruto wandered off after being dismissed. He went to the restaurant he and his old team went to when they first met. Being removed from that team was something that still grieved him, but he knew that the team wouldn't be able to keep up with his obscene pace. They were surprisingly understanding of his ruthlessness on the bridge, all of their eyes hardened when they thought of what they would do in his position if it were someone they cared that deeply for. He hadn't seen the four of them since then. Not since he was able to defeat Gai with the first two gates open in a one vs one. He had to pull on Kurama's chakra for that battle... damn he missed them.
He placed some meat on the BBQ, savoring the smell of the cooking meat. He looked around the booth when he heard the door open into the restaurant. 'Speak of the Devil...' "Oi! Gai! Lee! Ten Ten! Neji!" The four looked over, surprised looks on their faces. Naruto waved them over to his table. The four walked over and took their seats in the booth around him. "How long has it been, guys? Two months?" Gai nodded softly. "Two months too long. Dinners on me tonight, guys!" Naruto was ecstatic. It had been so long since he had seen his friends. "Naruto..." Ten Ten spoke in awe, looking at the boy with a mixture of respect and disbelief. "Your chakra... it's terrifying compared to when we last met. If I didn't know any better I'd say I was facing down Kakashi." Naruto smiled his blindly bright smile. "That's what I was hoping for. I'll need to be at least that strong to complete my mission!" The four froze, looking at Naruto in disbelief.
What kind of mission could he be going on that required the strength of a Sanin level threat?
"I can tell your curious, but I can't tell you anything about it yet. Just know that it's really dangerous. I'm really glad I caught you guys in here, actually." The students raised their brow, but Gai's furrowed, while his eyes darkened. Kakashi had said those words in this restaurant before the Wave Incident. "Naruto. I know it's secretive, but you can always call on me for help. I'm your friend, after all." Naruto couldn't help but smile, especially as the others nodded in agreement. "Right, we might not be strong enough to help now, but we have our uses." Naruto grinned, proud to see his ex-teammates so humble.
"You know, you three have grown immensely as well. I can sense it. Ten Ten, I see you've at least completed the first 4 Uzumaki scrolls I lent you. Your aura is absolutely telling. It's like I'm staring down a long lost cousin." Ten Ten blushed at the praise. An Uzumaki complementing a non-Uzumaki on Uzumaki techniques was some very intense praise. "Lee, you and Gai have gotten quite far into you training huh. When we last talked you were on the fourth... now your on the sixth. I've got to admit, Lee. Your going to be absolutely terrifying later." Lee puffed out his chest with pride. "Neji... I'm most impressed with your progress. I can't sense it. For a matter of fact I can't sense you at all. The only person I've known that could suppress themselves that thoroughly subconsciously was Kakashi. You should be proud." Neji smiled a small, happy smile. Naruto leaned in close to Neji's side. "I'm much more impressed with the fact that I can't pick up any hatred in you emotions like I could before. I'm so proud of your progress." Neji's smile widened just a little bit more.
The five ate and caught up as the sun slowly lowered into the horizon. Naruto stood when He saw the sun would soon dip below the surface of the horizon. "Well, wish me luck guys." He held up his fist to his friends. The five bumped fists before Naruto turned around, a smile on his face. He flashed to Hokage monument, quickly sensing various energy sources. Naruto scowled as Danzo approached. "It seems Hiruzen has finally come to his senses." Naruto gave a savage grin as he chuckled. "Indeed he has Danzo. Given that the entire reason you stand in front of me now is so I can kill you and then take your place." Both Danzo and Naruto took stances, ready to pounce.
Their battle would no doubt be a fierce one.
