RAIN POURED HARD OUTSIDE the windowsill. The clouds were gray welcoming what it seemed like a storm coming. The wind picked up pushing the trees against each other and Talia swore the tree outside Bella's window was going to fall against the house soon. It was silent inside the house beside Talia's conversation with her mother through the phone.

"Si, mama." Talia responded rolling her eyes as her mother reminded her daughter of her homework she had to finish. "I already finished it."

"How is she?" Joyce asked quietly.

Talia went quiet for a few seconds looking around her surroundings as Bella was downstairs waiting on her. Talia made sure Bella couldn't hear her as she closed the door. "Um, I think she's okay. I mean, she's not great but she's hanging there. She hasn't had any of those nightmares Charlie told me about so I think it's a good thing."

"Okay, that's good." Joyce replied missing her daughter who had only been gone for less than three days. "I hope she gets better."

"Yeah, I hope so too." Talia mumbled before switching the subject. "I have to go. Me and Bella are going to have breakfast at the diner because both of us are too lazy to cook!"

A short laugh left Joyce's lips, "okay, mija, have fun. Be safe! Love you!"

"I will!" Talia stated, "I love you too. Bye!"

      "Bye!"

Talia hung up the phone letting out a small sigh. She didn't know why she was in a gloomy mood. Maybe because of the weather. Talia thrived in the sun. She was the daughter of the sun. She couldn't comprehend how people lived in a city like this. That's not true, she can comprehend it, it was all the greenery, the forestry, and the stillness of it all. Forks was beautiful but it wasn't Talia's home so she felt she didn't belong here.

At least not quite yet.

"Talia!" Bella called out for her from the bottom of the stairs. "Hurry up, I'm starving!"

"Going!" The girl called out from the room as she quickly stood up immediately regretting how fast she got up. Talia felt herself get dizzy but luckily it only lasted for a few seconds before rushing down the stairs. "Are you sure it's safe to drive in the rain?"
