三十二 last supper

You had no dream that night.

No nightmare, no flashback.

Your eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room.

You felt this sinking feeling in your stomach, as you sat up on the edge of the bed.

But a hand grasped you and pulled you back,

"Don't get up yet..."

You were so used to Law being gone when you woke up, it caught you off guard.

You felt as he pulled you against his chest, and buried his face in your shoulder and hair.

Your body instantly relaxed.

The warmth, the feeling of his hands sliding up under your shirt around your waist as he pulled you closer to him.

"Shouldn't you be working?"

You asked into the darkness.

There was a moment of silence before he mumbled,

"Just let me hold you...'

"Just this once..."

You could feel his chest rumble against your back as he spoke, his breaths against your neck.

But your head was spinning.

Spinning with what you had remembered.

Who you were.

Who you really were.

You let out a soft exhale, trying to push those thoughts from your mind.

And somehow behind held by him, helped you forget.

Feeling the way he held you tightly against him, so you could feel the rise and fall of his chest, and even inhale his scent.

The only thing you didn't like being held like this, was that you couldn't see him.

Because when he was holding you like this, he looked perfect.

You loved to study every feature on him.

Every perfect feature.

You wrapped your arms over his that were still holding your waist, your hands gently gripping his.

Your gaze flickered back open after a moment, a thought crossing your mind as you asked,

"We haven't stopped anywhere recently..."

You paused.

"...where are we going next?"

You could instantly feel the way something in the air shifted as he sighed.
