Whispers of Deception Series #1 (On-going)

Chapter 3

She followed the big guy escorted her to where Mr. Hansley is. Sa lobby pa lang ng Hotel ay makikita na ang nagkikintabang tiles na siya namang nagliliwanag dahil sa napakalaking chandelier na nakasabit sa itaas. She’s been into more expensive places and buildings but she admire how unique the the ideas of design of this hotel. Nilampasan nila ang restaurant at dumeretso lamang ng lakad. Ang akala niya ay nandon lang ang lalaki to think na dinner meet up naman daw iyon. Pumasok sila ng elevator at nakitang pumindot ng numero ang lalaki kung saang palapag ito dapat pupunta. Ilang sandali ay bumukas ang pinto ng elevator. Pinauna siyang lumabas ng lalaki.

“Ms, Cromwell “  tawag ng lalaki. Nilingon niya naman ito at napansing nasa harapan sila ng double door. She thinks maybe the man is inside. So before it she let a deep sigh and  pushing the door and let her self in.

It was a private room to eat. Ni libot niya ang tingin niya sa loob ng kwarto. Ang akala niya maliit na espasyo lang pero sobrang lawak ng loob.  There’s also a full length glass window ‘na tanaw ang buong syudad ng Manila. There’s a table near the window with a proper table set up.

“Pleasant to meet you Ms. Cromwell” A baritone voice spoke. Nagulat siya ‘sa biglang pagsalita ng lalaking nakatalikod sa kaniya ngayon at nakaharap sa binatang tanaw ang buong syudad.

Tinatagan niya ang kaniyang loob at binalewala ang kaba. Humakbang siya papalapit sa mesa at huminto ng ilang distansya na lang ang namamagitan. She sighed. “ Good e-evening Mr. Hansley, nice to meet you” She said in a firm tone.

A strong muscles engraving in the broad shoulder of the man. She asked herself if he was Mr. Hansley dahil mukhang malayo sa naiisip niya ang lalaki. Tumikhim ang lalaki bago humarap sa kaniya at nilapag ang basong may laman na alak sa lamesa. She flinched when she saw him. She thought he was an old man. She imagined him  like an old fatty bald man. But seeing Mr. Hansley in front of her now, he’s very young! Totoo pala talagang may mga batang gwapo na CEO!

He didn't smile. He didn't show an emotion just stared emotionless and nothing. Lumakad papuntang silya ang lalaki para umupo. When he sat down he pointed the chair opposite of him. “Sit”  he ordered.

Vida wants to protest. She didn’t like the tone and the unpoliteness of him. But she just ignored it and sat down. A waiter entered the room and served them food with wine.

“The wedding will be next week Friday" he said. She almost choked hearing the wedding was going to happen next week!  " Sorry, I didn’t know. But is that very soon?" she asked. ”I don’t even know what gown I’m wearing or where’s the event?” she added.

“I’ll send a wedding planner to your house tomorrow. You choose everything you want for this wedding.. At least” He said and looked at her for the last words. Lumunok lamang ang dalaga. She don’t know what to say anymore. Parang wala ‘na talaga siyang choice kundi harapin na lang lahat ng ito!

The coldness of the room added to the coldness of the man in front of her. “Why.. Why did you offer my father to marry me?” She asked out of nowhere.

The man didn’t even flinch. He stayed slicing the steak  and not looking at her. Nakatuon lamang ang paningin Ni Vida sa lalaki.. Naghihintay ng sagot sa kaniyang tanong.

“Your father doesn’t have any other assets to offer or pay the debt. I don’t want cars, nor houses. And I hate dating or courting women that would waste my time. So, I need some wife to be with me all the events that needed and only present herself as a good and a perfect wife of mine” He said straightly without even stuttering or panting. He said it casually and the honesty in his voice is very pretty obvious.

Nakaawang ang labi ni Vida na nakatingin sa kaniya. Hearing those things like it’s unbelievable for her. Ganun ‘na ba ang dahilan ng pagpapakasal? Is love gone? I mean, yes! There’s no love in this marriage but, what I mean is Hays! Whatever!
