Regulus finds himself on Platfrom 9 3/4 once again returning to Hogwarts after the winter holidays to finish of his sixth year. He was hoping next year the only time he would have to go home was for the summer after next before he started working and probably went into hiding if could find where these hoxruxes were and how he could destroy them. That was if he could actually do something this year. He already wrote to his brother and friends letting them know of the situation.

Kreacher had dropped him off and left. He knew that he had to go see his friends and hope that he could bring to face them. With the deaths that he caused the war was weighing heavily on him. He knew by the time that he would be out of Hogwarts it would happening full fledged.

While the order was apprehenisve of him, they were trusting off him because of the trust that Dumbledore put in him as a double agent. The fact that he killed innocent people  made them unsettled. While he was glad that Dumbledore trusted him and it was for that reason that he was being able to walk freely as of right now, he did not know how much he trusted the headmaster. He did have to let him know of his current findings though he could trust McGonagall.

Although he did trust McGonagall she was loyal to Dumbledore. Maybe he could get her on his side. But for now he had to get on the train and meet his friends.

Regulus took a steadying breath, his grip tightening on the handle of his trunk. The steady hum of students and parents around him faded into a dull roar as he focused on the task ahead. He had to put on a brave face for his friends, though he could already feel the weight of their unspoken questions. They knew about his work with Dumbledore and the Order, but none of them knew the extent of what he'd done. They didn't know about the lives he'd taken, the choices he'd made that haunted him.

With Kreacher gone, Regulus forced himself forward, weaving through the crowd and finally finding the compartment where his friends waited. As he slid open the door, he was met with warm smiles and a handful of jests about his lateness. Marlene was the first to jump up, pulling him into a fierce hug.

"You took long enough!" she said, punching his arm playfully. "Nearly thought you'd found some other band of misfits to sit with."

He forced a smile, returning the embrace. "Wouldn't dream of it."

Lily gave him a knowing look from across the compartment, sensing the tension he was trying to hide. She'd always been perceptive, often too perceptive for his liking. He sank into the seat beside her, feeling an odd mixture of comfort and guilt.
