Blair peered out of her window as the mayor trotted through the gates to her house, humming. The scream of her doorbell echoed through the house as he pulled on it, still humming. The mayor turned and waved to the group of zombie musicians who always gathered near the gate, before turning back to the door and ringing the bell again.
"Jack? You home?" The mayor called, waiting a few seconds before his face swivelled around to a pale, weary side. He knocked his fist against the door, switching his face back to his normal one. "Jack! I've got the plans for next halloween! I need to go over them with you so we can get started."
The mayors face swivelled around again, "Jack, please, I'm only an elected official here. I can't make decisions by myself."
Blair scoffed, turning away from the window to grab a book.
"Jack! Answer me!" The mayor screamed as he fell backwards, down the stairs leading up to Blair and Jack's house. He slammed into the gate at the bottom, startling the musicians.
Blair turned back to the window, hearing the crash of the mayor falling. She sighed, rushing down her stairs before opening her front door.
"He's not home." One of the musicians stated, taking pity on the mayor.
"Where is he?"
"He hasn't been home all night." Blair answered, offering the mayor a hand.
The mayor groaned, grabbing Blair's hand and letting her pull him to his feet.

"This has never happened before!" The clown exclaimed.
All of the towns creatures had been searching for Jack, and had now gathered beside the mayors car.
"It's suspicious!"
"It's peculiar!"
"It is scary!"
"Stand aside. Coming through!" The mayor pushed creatures out of his way so he could get to his car. He climbed the ladder that was attached to it, tripping when he made it to the top. "We've got to find Jack!" The mayor spoke into a megaphone, looking extremely worried. "There's only 365 days left 'till next Halloween!"
"364!" The werewolf corrected, causing the mayor to panic even more.
"Is there anywhere we've forgotten to check?" The mayor asked, starting to sound desperate.
Blair sighed, glancing around at all of the creatures who started to tell the mayor where they had looked for Jack. The clown had looked in every mausoleum, the witches had opened the sarcophagi, Mr. Hyde had went through the pumpkin patch and one of the vampires had looked behind the Cyclops' eye.
"It's time to sound the alarms!" The mayor yelled.
"No! No, I think we should all just calm down and not cause a panic. Jack will be back soon, I'm sure of it." Blair insisted, but was ignored as the alarm blared through the town.
Blair inhaled deeply, watching as the mayor lay down on top of his car while all the other creatures stood around and thought about where else they could look for Jack.
