In a place filled with solace, in a place filled with souls departed, in a place where people grieved and say farewells to the past, he granted his wish.
To be with her forever.
The notebook that accompanied him through this long journey, holding the words he carried in his heart, laid on top of the headstone that honored his beloved wife.
From there, he laid on the ground. Watching the stars twinkle and be so near yet so far from his grasp.
In this world, Jun Pendragon was no more.
Was he late on his ventures? No. There was never being late nor being early.
The hands of time can only cross once every hour, just like how he was able to make reality and fantasy meet.
Being free like this was more than enough.
She will know how much he loved her soon.
"I'll be there soon."
Arthur closed his eyes.
His breathing was light, his senses calm.
His heart beats, and beats, then slowly, it beated its last.
He, too, may depart from this world, but his words will stay forever unchanging.
Dear Jun.
I love you.
From, Arthur.
There was a man who laid down near a gravestone. Checking his pulse, it was non-existent.
Did he end his life here? It doesn't seem like it, as there were no signs of alcohol or drugs.
Did he know this person? He can never tell—it has been 30 years since someone stepped on this specific place.
One thing was sure.
The gravekeeper took the journal on top of the headstone. The cover had a cartoonish heart drawn on it, with the name of what seemed to be his beloved. Flipping through pages, it contains words directed at one person, Jun.
His name was Arthur, and he loves Jun.
He closed the notebook and tucked it inside his pocket.
He knew what he must do.
These words shouldn't just stay on an aging notebook. It deserves to be known, just like how someone deserves to be heard.
All good things must come to an end, but it can be eternal through memories.
