Chapter 10 | Finding A Love I Can't Fully Embrace

You went to school, students buzzing with yesterday's sports day events, eager to gossip more. You entered the classroom hoping to see Jungkook, but you took your seat instead. Just then, Jimin walked in, his eyes lighting up upon seeing you. He sat down and turned to you.

Jimin - Good morning.

Jimin smiled as he greeted you, and you returned his smile shyly.

Y/n - Good morning.

Though you had made a bold move yesterday, it lingered in your mind all night. The warmth of his embrace felt nice, making you feel embarrassed and shy. You still had no idea what had come over you in that moment.

Jimin noticed your expression and smiled in understanding, deciding not to mention it to avoid making you uncomfortable.

Jimin - You really did great yesterday, I didn't know you could run that fast. It was like the speed of light.

You smiled.

Y/n - It's not that much, but thanks for saying that.

You both chuckled.

Shortly after, Jungkook arrived. The first thing he noticed was you and Jimin chatting, enough to annoy him, but today he had different plans. He smiled, thinking about it.

Jungkook came over and sat with you both.

Jungkook - Hey buddies, good morning.

Jimin smiled. He tried to lighten the atmosphere even more.

Jimin - Ahh, Jungkook, I see a glow-up on your face today. What's that about?

Jungkook raised an eyebrow.

Jungkook - Really?

He glanced at you and smirked.

Jungkook - Maybe it's because I'm sitting next to Y/n.

You looked at him.

Y/n - You sit with me every day... stop talking like that; it sounds cringe. Just be on your shoes.

Jungkook was taken aback, surprised you noticed his change so quickly, but he smiled to himself, thinking you'd see this side of him more often.

Jimin chuckled.

Jimin - Ahh, there's something different about my brother's energy today.

Jungkook turned to you, winking at Jimin.

Jungkook - You'll see that from now on, Hyung.

Shortly after, Mina arrived and noticed you all sitting together. Jungkook waved at her, and she returned with a knowing smile, while Jungkook blushed slightly. Mina realized Jungkook was on a mission to impress someone.

She approached and took a seat next to Jimin, grinning.

Mina - Hey, everyone! What's going on? Why are you all huddled together?

Jungkook smiled mischievously.

Jungkook - Oh, nothing much... just trying to impress someone.

You and Jimin exchanged glances, thinking he was referring to Mina. You both smiled, completely unaware of the real intent behind his words. Mina's smile widened knowingly, and Jungkook chuckled at your reactions, shaking his head.

Mina leaned in closer, clearly intrigued.

Mina - Oh really? Who's the lucky person?

Jungkook smirked, clearly enjoying the playful banter.

Jungkook - That's a secret for now. You'll just have to wait and see.

You shrugged it off, still thinking he was teasing Mina. The atmosphere was light, filled with laughter and teasing, making you feel more at ease. Little did you know, Jungkook's eyes flicked toward you, a hint of mischief in his gaze as he reveled in the moment.
