𝐈𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐠𝐨---the rest of the world left to rot as a radioactive wasteland---society has been divided into five factions to maintain order. Each faction represents a core value of the human race: Erudite, Dauntless, Candor, Abnegation, and Amity. The annual Choosing Ceremony marks the day each 18 year old must make their decision to join one of these factions. Will they choose the familiarity of what they've always known or venture to places they've never been?
Tris Prior has worn gray clad everyday for as long as she can remember. As a child, she was always reprimanded for not being thoughtful or selfless enough; she wasn't enough and entirely too much all at once. When she received her aptitude test result, she discovered why. Her result was inconclusive; she was scattered throughout the factions, but most represented the Dauntless, Erudite, and Abnegation. She was instructed to keep this part of herself hidden, so she built walls between herself and others.
Along the way, she meets an arrogant boy from Candor. When the unexpected happens and the two bond for reasons neither quite understand, he begins to chip away at her barriers. Once they fall, all she can do is yell "timber!" and hope for the best.

Welcome to When Walls Fall! This is a Peter Hayes x Tris Prior fanfic; It's based mostly on the movie and book, but with a few adjustments. I didn't like how the movie doesn't demonstrate Tris' growth (like how they didn't include her second fight with Molly), so I'm using this as an excuse to write a badass FMC in an enemies to lovers fic. Something I want to establish early on is that these characters are all 18, making a fanfic without this change would feel yucky. In addition, this fic is heavy inspired by both The Reckless and the Brave by @binarybuns and Gilded Lily by @saturnovas. For example, since this is the first time I'm writing a fanfic, I looked to these works to model my introduction after. If you haven't, please check out their divergent fics, they're absurdly good.
