Ignoring the strange sensation in his stomach, he nudged Clark's leg with his head.

Clark picked up Soren, resting his face on Soren's belly, and cried, "Soren, I could have saved the chicken. Why couldn't I save even one little chicken?"

Soren was deeply moved.

It was the first time he had seen the little Kryptonian cry.

He felt a pang of sadness and wished he could speak to comfort the grieving little one, telling him that it was okay and that he could save many, many people in the future.

But all he could do was lick Clark's tears away with his tongue and gently place his paws on Clark.

That was all he could do.

Luckily, the Kent couple were very kind parents.

When Clark came home crying with Soren, Jonathan didn't blame him for breaking the bicycle.

Martha also comforted Clark and helped him bury the little chicken behind the farm.

They didn't scold Clark for his reckless pursuit of the werewolf.

Instead, after asking Clark in detail about the werewolf, they advised him to think about his own safety first in the future.

"But Mom, I couldn't... I couldn't just watch the chicken and do nothing," Clark sobbed.

Martha lovingly held her little one.

She didn't say much because she knew that Clark's natural integrity, bravery, enthusiasm, and compassion would one day shine brightly for the whole world to see.

All she could do was create a happy and warm childhood for him.

The next day, Jonathan went to the town police station to report the incident.

He didn't tell them the whole truth about how his son fought a "werewolf" alone.

Instead, he just mentioned that there had been signs of human activity near the forest.

The police took the matter seriously.

They quickly sent several armed officers to investigate the forest and found a homeless man who had been missing for years.

The officers also discovered that this man had been stealing poultry and livestock from nearby farms, and they promptly arrested and detained him.

The "werewolf" scare in Smallville was over, but the aftermath of the incident was far from gone.

Soren noticed that the piece of Kryptonite he had swallowed seemed to be making him weaker and weaker.

He couldn't tell anyone about it.

It was as if having experienced death once made him more aware of such things.

He realized clearly that he might not be on this Earth for much longer.

But Soren didn't know where he would go next.

He came from a destroyed wormhole, traveling through vast space and countless stars, crossing many dimensions to get here.

So where would he go after this?

He often stared blankly at the sky, which Clark misunderstood as him liking to look at stars.

Clark would often hold Soren and look at the stars together.

Clark brought Soren out to the balcony and said sweetly, "Fuzzball, let's look at the stars together."

Soren didn't meow, he just lay quietly in his arms, watching the moon rise in the night sky with the little boy.

The autumn night sky was clear and cloudless, like a deep blue crystal, filled with countless stars.

The stars twinkled, and the Milky Way stretched across the sky like glowing mist.

The bright moon hung in the distance, its silvery light gently illuminating part of the night.

In the sparsely populated Kansas fields, the sky seemed so low, as if you could reach out and touch it.

Soren focused on the starry sky.

He recognized every nebula and constellation in the Milky Way, from Scorpius and Sagittarius to Triangulum Australe, extending towards Cassiopeia... And Perseus, though small and distant among the stars, it was the direction of his homeland.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful Perseus.

It was a constellation he protected with his life and the place where his soul came from.

The little white kitten snuggled quietly against his little owner's chest, his gaze deeply fixed on the faraway stars.

In this moment, the little alien boy and his kitten sat in silence.

Even Clark himself didn't know why he felt so peaceful inside.

Soren stayed with the boy for two years.

At first, he didn't know why he had come here, but being able to see the childhood of his favorite superhero in person was already a dream come true, something he never thought would happen.

He did his best to stay by young Clark's side for as long as possible—another day, another hour, another minute.

Though the boy seemed a little clumsy and naive, Soren knew that deep inside, Clark carried an innate loneliness.

He was the last son of Krypton.

In the vast universe, there would never be another one who shared the same blood as him.

Martha and Jonathan didn't let Clark go to preschool because they worried he might hurt other kids by accident because he was unable to control his powers.

The boy had grown up alone in the cornfields.

Even as a baby, he showed signs of his superhuman strength: his cries could shatter windows, his tiny fists could send cows flying, and a single spoonful of banana pudding could make the baby float with joy.

But Clark was so lonely.

He had no friends and had to learn to control his abilities constantly so he wouldn't hurt anyone or anything.

Everything on this planet was fragile compared to him, as delicate as paper.

If he wasn't careful, if he forgot his strength for just a moment, he could break the crib railing, tear his sweater, or accidentally wreck Jonathan's car.

Clark had a faint sense that he was different.

He wasn't like the other children.

He was unlike anyone.

Except for Soren, his soft, fluffy, white cat, who always looked up at the stars with him.

No matter what, Soren was always nearby.

Clark could always find him within his sight.

Soren was Clark's only companion.

Clark believed they would always be together.

However, he never expected that Soren would leave him so soon.
