Mia's Pov :
"Your life is in danger, Mia," Aunt Niki said, her voice steady but urgent.
Mia's heart dropped. "What do you mean? Why? What's happening?"
Aunt Niki took a deep breath, her hands shaking slightly. "It's about our family. There are things-powers and secrets-that you don't know. Things that put you at risk."
Mia looked between her mom and Aunt Niki, desperation mounting. "You're scaring me. Just tell me everything!"
"Mia, we didn't want you to worry," her mom said softly, stepping closer. "We thought we could keep you safe by keeping you in the dark."
"But that's not fair!" Mia shot back, frustration spilling over. "I deserve to know!"
"Mia, listen," Aunt Niki said, her voice calming. "There are forces that want to find you. You have a connection to something powerful, something that makes you a target. We need to protect you."
Mia felt her breath quicken. "What kind of forces? What do you mean by 'connection'?
"What do you mean by connection?" Mia demanded, her heart racing.
"Mia, your dad was a powerful man. He was known in the underworld," Aunt Niki said, her voice steady but grave.
"Powerful? Underworld?" Mia laughed, but it came out forced. "Is this some kind of joke, Aunty?"
"I wish it was," her mom said, her expression sad and resigned.
"Mia, your father's enemies are after you. They want you, and they won't stop at any cost," Aunt Niki explained, her eyes wide with fear.
"Mia, you have to come with me. I need to keep you safe," Aunt Niki said softly, her tone imploring.
"Mum, is this all true?" Mia asked, her voice trembling. "Why was Dad involved with the underworld? What is happening?!"
Tears welled in her eyes as her mom took a deep breath. "It's complicated. Your father was part of a world filled with danger and power. He thought he could protect us from it, but it didn't work out that way."
"What do you mean?" Mia pressed, feeling a mix of anger and fear. "Why didn't you ever tell me?"
"I wanted to shield you from it," her mom said, her voice breaking. "I thought we could live a normal life, away from that danger."
"Mia," Aunt Niki interjected gently, "your father made enemies, and they believe you hold the key to his legacy. They'll stop at nothing to get to you."
Mia felt a surge of defiance. "I won't let them! I'm not scared of some... some underworld people!"
"Mia, this isn't just about bravery," Aunt Niki said urgently. "You need to understand the gravity of the situation. Your life is at stake."
Mia wiped away a tear, feeling overwhelmed. "What do we do?"
Aunt Niki took her hand, her grip firm. "We need to leave this house and find a safe place. I promise to explain everything on the way."
Mia looked at her mom, searching for reassurance. "Are you coming with us?"
Her mom nodded, but the fear in her eyes was unmistakable. "I'll always be with you, but right now, we have to act fast."
Taking a deep breath, Mia steeled herself. "Okay. Let's go."
As they moved toward the door, a sense of urgency filled the air. Mia felt her heart racing, torn between fear and the thrill of the unknown. She didn't know what awaited her, but she was determined to face it head-on...
