New years

It was the morning on new years eve, Mia had just woken up, Char still asleep next to her. Tomorrow would be, hopefully, one of the best days of Mias life. She was going to ask the love of her life to marry her, Mia never thought she would fall in love, that was until she met Charlotte. In Mias eyes Char was the definition of perfect, her eyes were the most beautiful blue colour. Her smile always made Mia smile, she could be having an awful day but seeing her girlfriends smile made her day a million times better. When Mia had first met Charlotte, she thought that Char would never give her a chance after all she was nicknamed 'the mean redhead'.

Mia was pulled from her thoughts when she felt Charlotte stirring next to her. "Good morning sweetheart" Mia said smiling at her girl. "mhmmm" Charlotte had always hated waking up, Mia pulled her in for a hug while kissing her forehead, "how are you feeling this morning?" All she got in response was a slight hum, "come on lets get you ready i have a surprise for you" she tried to get up but Charlottes grip around her tightened. "Nooo you have to stay here with me" Chars morning voice made Mias heart swell. "Char baby, we have to go" Char loosened her grip slightly, but not enough for Mia to be able to get up. "Charlotte Victoria we have to go" Char looked up and looked back down before mumbling something into Mias chest. "Sweetheart say that again?" Mia asked almost whispering. "I said youre too comfy" Mia giggled slightly before picking Char up. Char nuzzled her head into Mias neck while wrapping her arms and legs around Mias body. "Youre like a koala sweetheart" Mia said while chuckling.

Mia had organised the whole day, they would go on a picnic together for lunch at their favourite beach. It was a hidden beach that not many people knew of, however to Mia and Char it was their favourite place. Mia had planned a candle-lit dinner, which she knew Char would love. And then finally at midnight she would ask her sweetheart to marry her.

As Mia and Char were getting ready to go Charlotte shouted, "MIA?" Mia ran in, "Are you okay?" She said slightly panicked. "Can you curl my hair?" Charlotte said with the biggest smile. "You scared me I thought you were hurt, of course I will sweetheart" after Mia had finished curling Chars hair she kissed her on the cheek before whispering, "i love you so much" Char replied, "i love you more" Mia put on a fake annoyed voice which always made Char laugh, "no I love you more" emphasising the 'you'. Charlotte kissed her in response, knowing they both love eachother too much for words to explain. "Come on sweetheart" Mia took Charlottes hand as they walked out to Mias car. She opened the door for Char placing a kiss on her hand before closing the door and going over to her side, "youre being really cute today" Char chuckled Mia would only ever show that side of her to Charlotte noone else was special enough to see it.

When they arrived, Charlotte couldnt even unclip her seatbelt before Mia was opening the car door for her. "How did I get so lucky" Charlotte said while holding onto Mias hand. Mia had decorated inside, filled with black roses, candles, etc. As they walked in Charlotte gasped before speaking, "Amelia Mae you didnt!" Mia giggled slightly before leading Charlotte down the path of petals towards the table, Char sat down before looking all around her, her eyes met Mias and she could tell Mia was slightly nervous. "Mia dont be nervous I love it" Char said excitedly, thinking Mia was nervous she wouldnt like the dinner.

They had been speaking for a few hours and Mia noticed it was 11:58, "Sweetheart come on! The fireworks will start in a minute" They walked over to the big windows that looked out over the city, Charlotte always loved the fireworks at new years. Charlotte was hugging Mia before she released as she heard the first firework. "Mia look!" She said turning to look outside, Mia got down on one knee holding the ring in her shaking hands. Charlotte turned to her side while saying, "theyre so pre-" before gasping. "Charlotte Victoria, I do not want to spend another year without you. You are my everything, I never thought I would fall inlove with someone that was until I met you, Sweetheart will you marry me?" Charlotte was in tears, "yes a million times yes" she said before Mia placed the ring on her now fiances finger. Mia stood up and pulled Char into a kiss, they stayed hugging while watching the fireworks. This was going to be the best year.
