I will never be the same. Not after today. Willa and I walked to the grocery store, about 2-3 miles away from the house. As we walked, there was a shooting by the house. So we ran. The people who were participating in the shooting, must have thought we were escaping enemies, and shot at us. Willa fell the to ground and cried. I started checking her pulse. I called 911 and ran as fast as my legs could take me, to the grocery store. Willa was picked up and they let me ride as well. The Paramedics were super nice, and they called Ms.Shannon. She drove her SUV to the hospital, which was luckily close by. They rushed Willa on the stretcher and made Ms.Shannon and I stay behind. We filled out TONS of paperwork, and payed. We are now sitting in the waiting room.
"Ms.Shannon?" I said quietly.
"Yes, Dear?" She said looking me into the eye.
"Thank you so much for coming, and being our legal guardian, and paying, and feeding us, and helping us, and everything you've done to raise us. You saved our lives." I said. I teared up a little when I said Guardian.
"It's my pleasure." she said wiping my tears with her thumb. I prayed to God, that Willa was going to be okay, and I started tearing up again.
