The skyship soared over Emon. Aenwyn leaned her elbows on the railing, the wind pushing hair that had escaped from her braid back. She lingered away from the group enjoying the silence. Her gaze slowly turned to where Vex and Vax quietly spoke to each other, her eyes lingering on Vax. She sighed as she tore her eyes away from him, she hated how she felt, how her heart would speed up when he was near her or when their eyes would meet. She stared back out at the landscape, her cloak blowing in the harsh wind. Allura caught Aenwyn's eye. She sighed as she pushed off the railing, silently making her way to where the rest of the group stood.

"As you can see, the creature has already razed three villages and miles of farmland. If this evil persists, the kingdom will starve to death," Allura explained, looking out over the sprawling land below them. Aenwyn's breath caught in her throat as she peered over the railing, looking down only to see a destroyed village, the land charred and smoking. Her eyes grew wide as they flew overhead.

"This mission sounds kind of deadly," Keyleth chuckled nervously, "do we really want to do this?" Keyleth looked around the group, still nervously giggling.

"Yes, this task is dangerous, which is why only the most noble, heroic and true-" Allura started, only to be cut off by Vax.

"Yeah, yeah, nobility and heroism is fine and all, but we're in this for the money," Vax grumbled, leaning against the skyship's railing.

"I see. So it's coin over character. Not surprising," Allura muttered, shooting Vax a pointed look before returning her gaze to the horizon.

The wood creaked and the wind whistled as the ship lowered itself to the ground. Aenwyn silently walked down the steps, her cloak waving in the breeze as she moved, her sword's familiar weight on her back. She looked back as Allura began to speak from the top of the steps, standing silently between Percy and Vax.

"The Shale Steps are beyond that hill. Good luck," she said firmly before turning to walk away. Allura paused for a second, shooting the party a glance. "Please don't, oh, fսck this up, as they say." Allura walked away, disappearing back into the ship.

"Thanks for the sweet ride. You'll be back to pick us up later, right?" Scanlan asked loudly. Dust shot into the air as the ship once again started to float. Aenwyn's cloak flew back in the breeze as the ship flew away. She snorted, turning to walk towards the Shale Steps.

Aenwyn had pulled her hood over her head as they walked, moving silently as they entered the quaint village.

"What we doing here again?" Grog asked quizzically from where he walked beside Pike.

"The last attack was just south of here. We're gonna ask around, see if anyone knows anything," Pike explained, looking around the village.

"Ask around," Grog repeated, grinning as he touched his fingers to his chin. Aenwyn looked around for anyone in the streets, Keyleth caught her attention.

"Excuse me, green friends. Have you seen any evil wizards or giant monsters passing through here?" Keyleth asked kindly, talking to a tree. Aenwyn raised a brow, shaking her head as she continued to walk forward towards a fish shop. She found her place beside Vex, listening intently as she talked to a local fisherman.

"Nah, it was too foggy. All we saw was dark clouds, lightning. We thought it was a storm," the fisherman explained, his hands on his hips, a sullen expression on his face.

"Oh, you didn't see anything, huh? How convenient, Mr. Fisherman, if that is your real name," Scanlan pipped up. Aenwyn rolled her eyes, dragging Scanlan away by his collar.

"Okay, maybe let me handle the questioning, Scanlan," Vex spoke up as Aenwyn dragged Scanlan away before looking back at the fisherman, "I'm sorry about him." Aenwyn let go of Scanlan, the gnome huffing up at her as she stood beside Grog.
