Tobias instantly regretted asking the question. The look on her face broke his heart.

"Tobias, what kind of question is that?" She furrowed her eyebrows and held back her tears.

"I'm sorry, baby. Come back, please!" She stopped in her tracks and crossed her arms over her growing stomach.

"Why would you ask me that? I am three and a half months pregnant. I started that affair two months ago. Do the math, Tobias!" He sighed and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to upset you." He kissed the back of her head repeatedly and sighed into her hair.

She turned around in his grip and let him kiss her forehead. "I love you, Armelle. We've been married for almost ten years. I can't picture my life without you."

She looked up at him and smiled softly as he moved in to kiss her.

"I love you, Tobias. Thank you for forgiving me. You have such a huge heart. I don't deserve you." He kissed her again and shook his head before closing the door.

He picked her up carefully and carried her to the bed.

"I may be hurting, but I'm willing to feel more pain to please you." She laughed and scooted towards the headboard.

"No, let me please you. You deserve it." He sat beside her and kissed her neck softly.

"Tobi." She straddled his lap and carefully wrapped her arms around him.

"Let me take care of you." He relaxed and pulled her shirt over her head before moving his hands to her stomach.

"Why are you doing this, my man? This has nothing to do with you. This is between me and the woman that's carrying my child."

"My wife isn't carrying your child, man. Get that out of your head, John." He shoved John and exhaled sharply.

"That is my child. She's having my baby. Tobias, let her go."

"You're crazy. Something is wrong with you, man."

"I'm not crazy, T. I'm in love. Armelle is the sexiest woman I've ever seen. Well, after her mother. How many men can say they slept with a mother and a daughter?" Those words set Tobias off and he tackled John to the ground, throwing punches to his face.

"Baby?" Tobias looked at the bed and and saw Armelle sitting up.

"Why are you up?" She rubbed her stomach and ran her left hand through her hair.

"I was just thinking." He got out of the chair and got in bed with her, pulling her closer for a kiss.

"What were you thinking about, baby?" She rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes.

"About the fight. He really got to me, baby. I've never been that provoked." Tobias took a deep breath and started to relax under her touch.

"Relax, baby. It's over. You're safe now." Armelle kissed his cheek and started to drift off until she heard a loud thud downstairs.

They didn't waste any time getting out of bed to investigate. "I want you to go get the kids and bring them in here. Lock the door behind you."

He kissed her and made his way downstairs quietly as Armelle woke up their children.

"Mommy, why are we going to your room? Where's daddy?" They climbed into the bed and waited with their mother.

She silently prayed for her husband.

After ten minutes of silence, Armelle heard a knock on the door.

She slipped out of the grip her sleeping children had on her.

There was another knock on the door, so she opened it.

"Tobias, thank God you're okay." They shared a kiss and stepped into the hallway.

"It's all clear. I had to check every room down there just to be sure." She nodded and placed her hands on his chest.

"Everything's gonna work out fine, baby. Just let go and let God." Tobias smiled and opened the door to their bedroom, letting her walk in first.

"They're knocked out. I don't think they're waking up, so we should go to the guest bedroom." He wiggled his eyebrows and she laughed before following him down the hall.
