Chapter 43: A Dream of Forever

Under a velvet sky, studded with countless stars, Adhara and Fred stood in the Astronomy Tower, a quiet haven that overlooked the sprawling campus below. The night air was cool, and the distant hum of the world seemed far away, as though they existed in a realm entirely their own. The tower was silent save for the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind.

"Fred," she began, her voice soft and tinged with excitement. "I've been thinking about our future... about what I want for us." She turned to him, her eyes shimmering with anticipation. "I picture our wedding at the beach—though not just any beach. I want it to be a hidden paradise, with soft, silvery sand beneath our feet. The whole setting would be magical, warm, and intimate, with candles lighting the aisle and lush greenery surrounding us."

Fred leaned closer, captivated by her vision. "That sounds absolutely perfect, Addy," he said, his eyes sparkling with admiration. "Can you imagine? The waves crashing in the background as you walk down the aisle... it'd be breathtaking."

Adhara smiled, encouraged by his enthusiasm. "And I'd want to wear something beautiful—something silver-green that flows as I walk. The colors would reflect the ocean and the trees around us." Her mind wandered, painting a vivid picture in her thoughts. "Oh, and the cake! It would have to be red velvet, of course, with cream cheese frosting. I want it to be the centerpiece of the reception, a true work of art."

Fred chuckled softly, shaking his head in disbelief. "You have it all planned out, don't you? And I'm sure it'll be delicious. Just imagine the looks on everyone's faces when they see it."

Adhara's heart fluttered at his playful tone. "Exactly! After the ceremony, we'd have a small reception on the beach, with fairy lights strung up in the trees and lanterns floating on the water. Friends and family gathered around, laughing, dancing, and celebrating our love."

Fred grinned, clearly swept up in her excitement. "That sounds like something out of a fairy tale. I can see us dancing under the stars, with everyone cheering us on."

Her expression turned more thoughtful as she continued. "And then there's the home I want for us. I envision us living in a big cottage just outside a village—a quaint little place with character. One with a garden where I can grow herbs, vegetables, and flowers, and maybe even a greenhouse."

Fred's face lit up at her vision, and he leaned back on his elbows, admiring her as she spoke. "Yes, exactly! A cottage with a cozy fireplace and a big kitchen where we can cook together. We could fill the garden with enchanted plants and create a space for gathering our friends and family. It sounds like the perfect place to call home."

Adhara's heart swelled at the thought of their future life together. "Can you imagine our kids playing in the garden, exploring the woods nearby, or us hosting dinner parties with friends? I want our home to be filled with laughter, love, and the smell of freshly baked goods wafting through the air."

After hearing all of Adhara's requests, most men might have been intimidated or overwhelmed. The pace, the seriousness—it would have been too much for many. But for Fred, it was different. He felt nothing but warmth. The fact that Adhara was already planning their future made his heart swell. It wasn't just about the plans themselves—it was that she clearly envisioned her life with him at the center. Fred loved that. It was a comfort to know that, in her eyes, they were already building something lasting. And he couldn't have been more grateful.

Fred nodded, his expression serious yet warm. "And it will be, Addy. We'll make sure it's a place where everyone feels welcome. Just as long as you're by my side, I know it'll be perfect." He reached out, taking her hand in his, intertwining their fingers.

"Can you see it?" Adhara asked, her voice dreamy as she looked out at the ocean. "A place where we can build our life together, one filled with all the things we love? I want it to be magical, Fred."

"I can absolutely see it," Fred replied, squeezing her hand. "The sound of laughter echoing through the halls, the warmth of the fire on cold nights, and the chaos of our kids running around— it sounds like the best adventure." He paused, his gaze softening as he turned to her. "And I promise you, Addy, I'll do everything I can to make that dream a reality."

She felt a rush of warmth at his words, her heart swelling with affection. "You make me believe it's possible. With you, everything feels attainable." A playful thought crossed her mind, and she chuckled softly. "Just don't forget to bring me breakfast in bed every morning!"

"Breakfast in bed? That's a deal!" Fred laughed, imagining the mornings spent together. "I can see it now—me, stumbling into the bedroom with a tray full of food, trying not to spill anything while you laugh at my clumsiness. It'll be our daily adventure."

They shared a lighthearted moment, filled with laughter and love, basking in the possibilities of their future. Adhara took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of their life together. "So, what do you think? Does it sound ridiculous?"

"Not at all," Fred replied earnestly, his voice filled with sincerity. "It sounds like a dream come true. You deserve everything you want and more. I'll always be here to help make those dreams come true."

With that, they leaned closer, their foreheads touching as they basked in the warmth of their shared dreams and aspirations. The connection between them deepened, and Adhara knew, in her heart, that they would create a beautiful life together—one filled with love, laughter, and the promise of forever.

As the moon climbed higher in the sky, casting a soft glow on Adhara's face, Fred reached for her chin, gently tilting her face upwards. "Addy," he murmured, his voice low and serious, "I can't wait to start this adventure with you. You've stolen my heart, and I'm ready to build a future together."

Adhara felt her cheeks flush at his words, and she couldn't help but smile. "Me too, Fred. I can't imagine doing this with anyone else."

They shared a soft kiss under the stars, sealing their promises and dreams with the warmth of their love. In that moment, surrounded by the night and the beauty of their dreams, Adhara knew that their future was bright and full of endless possibilities.
