"Who's this new photographer I am working with?"

I cast a woeful look over at my manager, who just grinned at me.

"He's really accomplished in his field but in the UK. Finally came back to Thailand 2 months ago. So Boss wanted you to have a shoot done by him so we can boost your popularity even more."

"He's that good?"

"He creates magic, Net!"

I looked at my manager sceptical. But she just grinned at me even more and hurried me to get ready. I nodded as I got my makeup and hair done while she fussed in the background, handling some calls. I absent mindedly checked my messages and IG while getting ready. I saw a bunch of messages from James and JJ who had heard that I had landed a photoshoot opportunity with Jes, and they were raving about it.

Who was this guy? Apparently, so many people knew of him, and here I was, absolutely clueless! I got ready and went out to the studio. A little while later, this dude entered the room with his camera kit in hand. I looked over at him and stood up, wanting to greet him. But he just brushed me off brusquely and told me to just go stand at in front of the screen while he set up.

I nodded, hesitant, and walked over to the spot he had marked. I stood there, unsure of what to do. I watched as he set up his kit, got everything ready, and then finally came over to me. He finally looked at me; breaking out into a small smile.

"P Net?"

I nodded, smiling at him. He introduced himself as Jes, the photographer.

"If I may ask, how old are you?"

"32."

"Oh, I'm 27 P. You don't have to call me P! You can call me by my name or Nong. Whatever you are comfortable with."

Jes nodded and asked if I was ready. I nodded. He directed me into a couple of poses and, unlike other photographers, never invited me to check the photos out periodically. We finished the shoot in a little over an hour, and then Jes started keeping away the camera.

"Uhm, P, don't I get to see the photos?"

"For?"

"Usually, the photographers will let us check the photos."

"And?"

"What do you mean, by and?"

"And then what? What happens?"

"Uhm, nothing. They just let us see if it's nice or not."

"Okays. And?"

I looked at him slightly exasperated. Was he for real!? I cocked my head, looking at him wondering if he was for real.

He just grabbed his stuff and turned to go. Before he left the studio, he turned to look at me.

"Just trust me in my job. I don't see a need to let my subjects see the photos. They will be good. Trust me, ok."

I didn't say anything, just nodding silently as he nodded and left. He was quite a character. First time I have seen such a photographer.
