I just cuddled into Teresa, who held onto me. She asked me to stay over for the night, but I shook my head as I had work the next day. Plus, I couldn't stay in that house knowing Jes may or may not come home.

I had an early morning shoot at 4 am and was at it the whole day. Over the day, I also snuck in time to look at the photographs that Jes had taken of me previously, and I was truly floored by his skill. He made me look so so so good.

By the time I was done with work, it was close to 5 pm. I was heading out to get an Uber when I saw Jes walking towards his car. He probably had a shoot around here. I hung back, not wanting to run straight into him and make things awkward, too. Once I watched him get into his car and drive off, I finally stepped out to the roundabout to wait for my Uber.

I was meeting Teresa for dinner at 7 pm at our regular diner. We were chatting over our usual milkshakes and burgers when Jes happened to walk in with Kyunn. He saw Teresa and came over, not realizing I was around too as I was in the toilet then.

"Teresa.. you are here? Who..who are you with?" I heard Jes just as I was walking towards the table from behind him. Teresa pointed to me. Jes turned to see me and he was about to break out into a smile involuntarily when Kyunn held onto his arm and smiled at him or warning him as I would put it as his face changed instantly and he became poker faced. He just nodded at me and politely asked if we wanted to join them.

I could tell Teresa would reply something sarcastic, so I quickly jumped in and replied, "No, thank you, P. We plan to just have some time alone as we haven't really been hanging out together."

Jes nodded, and Kyunn and he went off. Once they went off, I turned to Teresa, and my polite diplomatic smile had dropped off, my pain colouring my face instead. Teresa reached out to me, and I just held onto her hand tightly. She caressed my face and hugged me tightly, and we sat down. I had lost my appetite and couldn't finish off my burger. Once we were done, we left, and I glanced at Jes discreetly one last time before leaving.

The next couple of weeks I was super busy at work finishing up my filming and all. It was a tough couple of weeks and strenuous too, leaving me little time to eat and rest adequately. I lost a bit of weight over the weeks and had barely stopped by Teresa's too. I didn't see Jes at all in over 3 weeks as we hardly bumped into each other at work though he barely left my mind.

It was nearly 2am as usual when I left the studios. Just as I was heading out and about to book my Uber, I saw Jes coming out too. It was the first time in a long while we had bumped into each other alone.

"Net.."

"P. What are you doing here?"

"I.. I had a photoshoot to do for some of the guys for an upcoming drama. P Aof had hired me. How about you? Just ended work?"

I nodded, saying I had just wrapped up filming. I then bade him goodbye and was about to walk to the front to book an Uber when he held onto my hand. I turned to look at him.

"Its...it's late. Let me send you home?"

I looked at him for a long bit, wanting badly to say yes but I thought of Kyunn and instantly I just shook my head.

"It's ok P. I will get an Uber home. This is my usual schedule so I'm used to it."

"Uh.. okays. But have you been eating? You look like you lost weight. Are you ok? I know you are busy with work but you shouldn't strain yourself."

I looked at him then looked away as I muttered, "Please don't care too much about me. It's hard enough being without you and pretending you don't exist. By caring, you are just making it worse for me. You told me to treat you like Teresa's brother and my photographer. That's what I'm trying to do. Don't make it harder than it already is for me, P."

Before Jes could say anything else, I pulled away my hand and walked off.

But if I had turned back, I would have seen his heartbroken face and know he was suffering as much as I was.

But that's what we had to do, right?
