Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow across Jungkook's room as he slowly blinked awake. The memories of last night lingered in his mind, the weight of his parents' loss and his hunger for revenge against Jinhee sharp and unyielding. He got up, stretching his muscles before glancing at the clock. It was time to face another day—a day closer to his goal.

After getting dressed in a casual black t-shirt and jeans, he made his way to the kitchen, where his aunt and uncle were busy preparing breakfast. His cousin Yoongi was already seated at the table, sipping his morning coffee with his usual quiet presence. Jungkook greeted them with a nod, and his aunt smiled warmly, setting a plate of food in front of him.

"Good morning, Jungkook," she said, her voice gentle.

“Morning, Auntie,” he replied, giving her a brief smile.

His uncle looked over, a hint of concern in his eyes. "You seemed distracted last night. Everything alright?"

Jungkook simply nodded, keeping his emotions in check. "Just thinking about some things."

Yoongi glanced at Jungkook, his gaze knowing. He understood the storm brewing within Jungkook and didn’t press him further, letting the silence settle between them as they finished breakfast. Afterward, Yoongi grabbed his keys, nodding towards Jungkook.

“Ready to go?” he asked.

Jungkook gave a curt nod, following Yoongi out of the house. They got into the car, the city bustling around them as they drove in silence. Soon, they arrived at Jungkook’s penthouse—a luxurious gift from his parents on his 18th birthday, a memory he held onto despite the pain of losing them.

When they entered the penthouse, they found Jhope, Jungkook’s childhood friend, already waiting for them. Dressed in a sharp suit, Jhope exuded a quiet confidence, his face lighting up as he saw Jungkook.

“Jungkook!” he greeted warmly, pulling him into a brief hug. “It’s been a while.”

“Good to see you, too, Jhope,” Jungkook replied, his tone calm yet appreciative.

They settled in the living room, and after a few moments of small talk, their conversation shifted to what they had all gathered for: Lee Jinhee.

“Jinhee's empire keeps expanding,” Yoongi began, his gaze dark. “We’re going to need a plan if we’re serious about taking her down.”

Jhope nodded in agreement. “Her influence is practically woven into every corner of the city. But every empire has its cracks.”

Jungkook listened intently, his expression unreadable as he leaned forward. “Then we need to find her weakness,” he said, his voice steady yet intense.

Jhope exchanged a glance with Yoongi before leaning closer, lowering his voice. “Her weakness… it’s her boyfriend, Kim Taehyung.”

Jungkook’s eyebrows rose slightly. “Her boyfriend? Does he know about her… activities?”

“Yes,” Jhope confirmed. “Taehyung is fully aware of Jinhee's position in the underworld. He never stops her, never interferes, and in fact, seems to support her, in his way.”

A smirk played on Jungkook’s lips as he processed the information. “Then he’ll be my bridge to her downfall.”

Jhope gave him a questioning look. “Why are you involving Taehyung? He’s an innocent bystander. It’s not like he’s actively participating in her crimes.”
