Echoes In The Field

Chapter 2

"Oh shoot it is that kid." Kyle whispered to Jane, trying to be
quiet as possible to not be heard.

"Why the heck...."

"What...?"

(The kid turns his head to their direction.)

"SHIT!"

Kyle and Jane quickly ducked over in fear and breathing heavily.

"Kyle we have to go, now!" Jane whispered loudly and took Kyle's wrist as they walk to Kyle's back door.

"Oh goodness....did he saw us..?" Kyle said in fear, closing the back door and walk their way to the living room.

"I didn't see it, but I know he heard us." Jane said, her tone matches with Kyle. Until they we're interrupted with Kyle's little brother in the living room.

"Ah! Kristen, how are you bro?" Kyle said with a grin when seeing his little brother, holding his toy ukulele and copying his big brother. His worries got away once he got distracted while Jane looks around Kyle's house.

"...what now?" Said Jane.

"Sweetheart! Is getting dark! Get inside!"

Yelled his mother.

he didn't listened. His eyes glows blue in the dark, empty and shiny.

"Sweetheart!"

His mother chanted, no response, nor movements came from him. The moon slowly rises up and the sun reaches to the horizon.

Yet he stayed still.

6:55 PM

"Shit it's almost 7 Kyle, I had to go home before ma beats my ass." Said Jane when she looked at her phone to check the time.

Earning a chuckle to Kyle. "alright, I don't mind. We'll hang out tomorrow anyways. I don't know where though. Stay safe while walking home." Said Kyle, him lounging so relaxing on the couch while they watch a comedy movie.

"Yeah dude, see ya." Said Jane.

"See ya." Kyle followed, raising up his fist for their goodbye handshake as Jane gets up to the door and left.

Jane walks around the dim side road, no one around expect for her. There's only a few cars running by but didn't filled the noises every minute. Pass to another house almost away from Kyle's, he heard some mother calling out her child. Her voice sounded worried, but she wasn't screaming his name making Jane doesn't know who is she searching for. 'sweetheart' just keeps chanting and chanting out of the mother's mouth. Upon realizing that it actually came very close to the new dude in town.

Jane got very nosy and decided to sneak up to their fence, and peaked. It revealed the same, weird kid. But she can now take a peak from his appearance from afar.

✓ golden brown hair
✓ an eye patch
✓ black pants
✓ black sneakers
✓ and....wolf ears and a tail?

When Jane tried analyzing him more, she heard a dog whining quietly, her attention quickly getting to the dog. Oh, it's her pet Kaito.

"Wh-what are you doing here?" Said to her pet Kaito who couldn't stop whining. It was a sudden Kaito was feeling something was wrong with Jane's situation that he started growling and barked. Jane panicked, trying to calm down her pet.

"Shit! Kaito! Quiet down!" She tried crouching while hanging on the fence with her other hand, trying to shush Kaito. When she about to loose her grip, she turned her head to the dude which actually has his eye to her now.

That's a sudden Jane lets out a stinging grunt once she made a millisecond eye contact with the dude. Completely loosing her balance and fell to the concrete floor. She screamed in pain as her left eye sting as if it was sprayed in alcohol.

She then woke up to a hospital.
