I got bad memory so I don't know what happened after the rumble...

I heard about the rumble and Darry suggested I shouldn't go but I wanted to, if it was the only thing to get my mind off of Ponyboy and relieve some justice for myself. At the hospital, I was talking to Ponyboy about the upcoming event, and with his small energy words he would say ever so slightly to stay safe. Ponyboy had a point, I wasn't exactly like Darry so muscular, or like Dallas so tall. I was small for my age and a bit on the thinner side and I knew it. I don't know why but I felt nervous about the upcoming Rumble because Ponyboy wasn't going to be there. Usually, me and Ponyboy would take a soc up together but now it was just going to be me and the others.

The night of the Rumble everyone was hyped up and excited, but deep down in the eyes of Darry and Sodapop I could see their worry for Ponyboy. They were good at hiding their emotions, but I could always see right through them. Eyes don't lie and that's true. I've spent most of my life hiding my emotions and I've been able to see the emotions of other people quite easily.

We were standing there with the others, and everyone agreed to no weapons. Then the rumble started, I was getting beat badly because it was just me. But that's when I heard yelling and looked over and it was Dallas running towards me, he beat that guy good. We fought together against some socs, and that's when a soc pulled a switchblade. They went against the rules, and everyone ran. The greasers won, and I was beat pretty bad so was Dallas but it's okay, right? Me and Dallas went to visit Ponyboy, he was speeding and we got pulled over but Dallas told me to play sick so I did. It worked as the cop went to call an ambulance and Dallas sped off, soon we made it to the hospital. But Ponyboy wasn't getting any better...
