Prompt: Draco discovers the Lewis Carroll book Alice in Wonderland in the library

~~~~~
Draco was lost.
He was given this impossible task. Kill Dumbledore. If the Dark Lord himself couldn't succeed, how the hell was he supposed to? He's a sixteen-year-old boy!
He searched through the library looking for something, anything, that would help him escape this life he was forced into. A book he could lose himself in. A place he can escape to. One about a place where he doesn't have to pretend to hate everyone. A place where he's not a Malfoy. A place where he's just himself.
Just Draco.
He turns with a sigh toward the nearest exit of the library. It was getting late, and even though he was a prefect, he still didn't have a good enough excuse as to what he was doing in the muggle section of the library at 2 in the morning on a Tuesday. Just as he was about to head toward the exit, a thud on the table behind him had him turning back around.
He turned and saw a book lying on the table, its pages glowing faintly. He walks forward to read the title. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the title reads. As Draco reaches to open it, he hears the doors to the other side of the library open. In a panic, he turns and rushes out of the room, making a mental note to return to the book at a later time.
"Oi! Mudbl- Granger!" Draco calls the next day on their way to Charms. Granger and the boys she was with, Potter and Weasley, turn in surprise to face him. Draco settles his face into his usual sneer. "What can you tell me about Alice's Adventures in Wonderland?" Granger blinks before answering.
"Well, it's a book about a girl who falls into a rabbit hole that leads to a topsy-turvy world. It's crazy. It's a good read, though. Muggles consider it classic literature." She smiled hesitantly while telling him the last part, and Draco almost found himself smiling back.
In another world, one that was less broken, Draco could find himself being friends with Hermione. He quite likes intellectual conversations, although he can never find anyone to have them with. Of his friends, Blaise was the smartest, and even he isn't nearly smart enough for Draco to be having the types of intellectual conversations he can picture Hermione having.
Draco gives her a stiff nod and leaves, the trio staring after him. He could honestly care less about what they think. He has a job to do now.
Draco makes his way to the empty library again, heading straight toward the muggle section. He locates the book and places it on the table. Then he stares at it expectantly. He waits. Five minutes turn into ten which turn into an hour which turns into two. He sits there, staring at the damn book. "Why won't you glow?" he growls.
After another five minutes, he sighs in defeat, standing to make his way out of the library. Suddenly, the book flashes bright. The pages are glowing brighter than before. A strong wind blows throughout the room, and he steps back, shielding his eyes. There's an even brighter flash, and when the wind dies down, the book stops glowing. Draco can't believe his eyes.
There's a girl standing at the table.
She appears to be about seven years old, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She's wearing a blue dress with a white apron and a matching bow in her hair. She is looking at him with an air of surprise and curiosity, almost a childlike wonder. She smiles brightly at him.
