Mel was nervous, she has not seen Ruby all day. But then she blames herself and Ruby. It was their anniversary after all, so while she was busy with friends and family, Mel was busy getting her gift. Unbeknownst to her, Mel had contacted Ruth and all her other friends to come and surprise Ruby.

She left the house early this morning, while Ruby was still asleep, leaving her a note that she'll see her later tonight after she has spent some quality time with her best friends and family. Ruby woke up, feeling the right side of the bed was empty, well almost empty as she smells all the pink rose pedals, because of course she would pick pink. She sits up and frowns but then spots a note on the pillow.

I have a few surprises for you today/tonight so in the meantime, enjoy your time with your friends and family

Love Mel

PS you look so perfect while you sleep i almost didn't want to leave you

She smiles to herself before getting up and getting ready. She quickly showers, brushes her teeth and gets dressed. Before she can head to the kitchen, a knock on the door grabs her attention. She goes and opens it to find the whole cast of Red. And she means the whole cast. "Surprise!" She smiles and laughs as they all hug her. "You guys!" They steal her away for a day out on the town. Ruby spends the day shopping, going to the arcade, obstacle courses, to which Morgan failed miserably. "Screw all of you!" She shouts as Tristan helps her up. "You'd think after boot camp, you'd be better at this!" Ruby laughs. Morgan stares at her. "You are so lucky that Mel loves you and I can't touch you right now." Ruby smiles. "Yeah, i know." Around 4 they took Ruby to a restaurant and dropped her off. "Wait, you guys aren't coming?" "Nope, still have rehearsal tomorrow." "Yeah, leave it to Mel to plan a huge ass thing for your anniversary and still expect us to be at rehearsals tomorrow." Kylie sighs as Ruby laughs. "Hey, she's still our manager." "But she's your girlfriend, you have more lean way." Ruby nods. "Yeah, i know."

"I've never seen her that happy before, I've never seen you this happy before. I'm sorry i almost stood in the way of that." Kylie apologizes. "It's ok, Ky. I know you only did it cause you care. How are things with Malia?" She smirks. "Um...." She laughs nervously. "They're good, i guess. I don't know, after last night.... I don't know where we stand." Kylie sighs. "Should ask her." Ruby nods towards Malia. Kylie glances and nods. "I will. Now, go eat dinner!" She shoves her into the restaurant. She expects to see Mel but was utterly shocked to find her family. "Mommy!" She runs up and hugs her tight. "Ruby! I've missed you!" She lets go and hugs her siblings. "How've you been Rube?" Nadia asks her. "I've been good, how about you?! How's FIDM?" Before Nadia could reply, her brothers both pick her up. "Ah! Alfie! Alec! Put me down!" She laughs. They soon take their seats and chat while looking at the menu. "Hello, my name is Melody and I'll be your waitress this evening. What can i get started for you?" She looks up and sees her girlfriend smiling at her. She blushes while she smirks as her mom orders. "Ooh lovely name sweetheart." Natalie tells her. "Oh thank you!" Mel glances at her before turning her attention back towards Ruby. "Anyways, I'll have the...." They all place their orders, as if her manager wasn't standing three feet in front of her.

"And what about you, beautiful?" Mel smirks. Ok, two can play at this game. "Hmm, I don't know. What do you recommend?" She doesn't want to do too much in front of her family. "Well, do you have any allergies?" She asks, pretending not to know. "Oh yes, she's allergic to sugar." Nadia smiles. "Sugar, got it." She writes it down as if she doesn't have an EpiPen in her back pocket as they speak. "I mean, you're sweet enough as it is anyways, so I'm pretty sure you don't need the extra sugar." Mel smirks. "Let's see, we have some excellent chicken?" "No thanks, I don't really like cock much." Ruby drinks her water. Mel, completely unfazed, watches her lips. "No, I'm sure you don't. Well, i guess I'll just surprise you." She smirks as she walks away. Ruby turns back to her family. Her siblings mildly amused while her mother is mortified. "Sorry mommy." She mumbles. "It's alright, you're old enough to make your own decisions. And Mel is a good girl." Ruby bites her lip. "You don't mind the age difference?" She shakes her head. "No, you're both legal. As long as you're happy, that's all i care about." Ruby hugs her mom tight. "I love you mommy." "I love you too sweetie."

After the dinner is over, Mel walks over in regular clothing. "Hey guys." "Hey!" "Hey Mel." She sits next to Ruby and holds her hand. "Thank you." She kisses her cheek. "Of course baby. Whenever you're ready, we'll go." Ruby nods. They stay and chat for about another hour before they call it a night. Mel takes them back to her house. "You know, at this point, you might as well move in." She tells her. Ruby laughs. "Yeah right." "I mean it." Ruby stares at her. "Are you serious?" Mel reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small box. "I got this for you. Or well, us."

Ruby gasps

Ruby gasps. "They're so cute!" She gushes. Mel nods. "As well as this." She pulls out a small silver key. "What is that?" "It's a key to my house, or our house. If you want?" "You want me to move in with you?" Ruby smiles. "If you want." Mel shrugs. Ruby squeals and hugs her tight before kissing her. "Yes, a thousand times yes!" Mel laughs. "Easy, i haven't even actually proposed yet." She jokes. "Come on, let's go inside our place." She smiles and gets out to open her door. Ruby knows she's joking and she knows she's way too young but she can't help but think of the day that Mel actually does propose. Will she go all out like she has been? Only time will tell.
