Chapter 17

📍MYKONOS,GREECE 🇬🇷

~Tory's POV~

It's early morning, and we're getting ready to leave Mykonos for Rhodes. We plan to visit two cities to explore different sides of the country, and I just finished packing my suitcase. Sitting on it to keep it closed, I struggled with the zipper until Jobe came through the door.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked.

"Get over here and help me," I said, looking up at him. He grinned, coming over to hold the suitcase shut as I finally zipped it. "Thank you, Jobeyy," I said, smiling at him.

Ever since the kiss, I've been beaming. I can't help it; I'm just so happy, and even Camilla has noticed. She keeps giving me these suspicious looks, but I pretend everything's normal.

Jobe and I headed downstairs with our bags, the last to arrive. We left our suitcases in the living room and joined Camilla and Jude in the kitchen for breakfast. I was actually excited to see Jude again, hoping we could pick up where we left off after last night. We didn't really interact much after the party since we were all exhausted from the activities of the previous day, and I had no idea what to expect this morning.

As soon as I greeted Camilla with a hug, I turned to Jude with a bright smile. "Good morning, Judey," I said cheerfully, giving him a quick hug.

He barely hugged me back, just a quick pat on the shoulder, not even bothering with a "good morning." I felt my stomach drop a little. Something was definitely off with him.

We sat down for breakfast, but Jude barely touched his food. While Camilla cracked jokes that had Jobe and me cracking up, Jude didn't even smile. He looked uncomfortable and guilty, and a sinking feeling started to settle in my chest. Had he regretted the kiss?

Camilla nudged me with her elbow and gave me a questioning look, her eyes asking, What's up with him? I just shrugged, trying to hide the worry that was starting to eat at me.

After a few more minutes of watching him push his food around, I couldn't take it anymore. I leaned forward, trying to keep my voice light. "Jude, are you okay? You're... really quiet today."

He looked up, meeting my eyes for only a second before looking away. "I'm fine," he mumbled, barely loud enough to hear. "Just... tired."

But I knew him well enough to know it was more than that. I could see something was weighing on him, and I had a sick feeling it was about last night.

Camilla, sensing the tension, changed the subject and started telling us a story about her last trip. I tried to laugh along, but my mind kept going back to that kiss—the way it felt so right and so real. I'd gone to bed with a smile, replaying every second in my mind. But now, sitting across from him, I couldn't shake the worry that he might have thought it was all a mistake.

When breakfast ended and everyone got up to clear the table, I took a deep breath and gently touched his arm. "Hey, Jude... can we talk?"

He froze for a moment, then nodded, a flicker of emotion in his eyes. "Yeah... sure."

We stepped outside onto the porch. The morning air was cool, and the scent of pine filled the air. I waited as Jude stared at the horizon, his hands shoved into his pockets. Finally, he looked at me, his eyes a mix of uncertainty and hesitation.

"Listen, about last night..." he started, his gaze dropping to the ground. "I think... maybe it was a mistake."

My heart sank, and I felt a sting of hurt, but I forced myself to keep my voice steady. "A mistake? Jude, I don't understand. It felt... it felt real."
