Chapter 19
📍 RHODES, GREECE 🇬🇷
~Tory's POV~
It's the next day, and today we decided to relax and not do any activities so we wouldn't be exhausted when we head home tomorrow. It's our last day in Greece, and I've chosen to spend it at the beach, just chilling.
We had breakfast a few hours ago, and the awkwardness between Jude and me is still lingering, but I'm trying not to let it affect my mood. Right now, I'm with Camilla in her hotel room, just chatting and joking around.
"So, what's going on between you and Jobe?" I asked, trying to spice up the conversation.
Camilla started giggling, and I couldn't help but laugh too. Her cheeks flushed, and she rolled her eyes, pretending to brush off my question.
"Oh, come on! There's nothing to tell," she said, though the smile tugging at her lips clearly told a different story.
"Oh, really?" I teased, nudging her playfully. "Because I've seen the way you two look at each other. Spill!"
She threw a pillow at me, laughing. "Fine, fine. Okay, maybe he's kind of sweet. And maybe we stayed up talking until, like, 2 a.m. the other night."
I gasped, dramatically clutching my chest. "No way! And here I thought you two were just friends."
She rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile. "He's just... different, you know? It feels easy with him, like I can just be myself. It's nice."
Her words made me smile, though a hint of envy flickered in my chest. That feeling of ease was exactly what I thought I'd had with Jude—before everything got so complicated. I grinned, feeling like I'd struck gold. "So, what's holding you back?"
She sighed, shaking her head like she didn't quite believe herself. "I mean... he's younger than me. I keep wondering if this is just a vacation fling for him. Like, maybe he's not actually interested in anything serious."
I nudged her shoulder. "Come on, Camilla. You know Jobe's mature for his age. And besides, he's crazy about you—everyone can see it."
She bit her lip, clearly thinking it over. "Yeah, but what if that's just because we're here, in Greece, and everything's so... easy?"
I shrugged. "Well, there's only one way to find out. Just enjoy it for now. See what happens when you both go back. You deserve this, Camilla."
She smiled, seeming a little less hesitant. "Maybe you're right."
LATER IN THE DAY
We all decided to grab lunch together and then split up because everyone wanted to relax in their own way. I wanted to go to the beach. Camilla wanted to explore the city a little more and somehow managed to drag Jobe with her.
As for Jude, he just wanted to stay at the hotel, moping around. But for lunch, we went to a cute café that sold sandwiches, coffees, and teas. I ordered a pesto mozzarella sandwich, no tomatoes (because I can't stand them), and an iced caramel Frappuccino to beat the heat.
The rest of them ordered too, and we ate together, of course, with Jobe and Camilla cracking jokes like usual. Those two are unstoppable they'll make you laugh until you're on the floor.
After lunch, Camilla and Jobe went off to grab ice cream, and I headed back to the hotel to change into a bikini with a cover-up. I decided to walk to the beach to clear my head; it wasn't too far from the hotel, so it was no big deal.
