Chapter 10
📍SPAIN, MADRID🇪🇸
~Torys POV~
Today is game day for Jude. He's playing in a match against Atletico Bilbao, and he asked me to come. Of course, I agreed, and naturally, Camila had to tag along. She's a much bigger football fan than me and loves Real Madrid. Since we bought jerseys last time, we didn't need to go shopping again. I was in the kitchen making breakfast for Camila and me because she slept over. While I was baking some eggs, I was blasting MI GUSTA-DTF. I need music every morning to wake me up—it gives me energy.
Camila came into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes. By this time, it was almost noon.
"Good morning," she said, stretching.
"Good morning," I replied as she watched me cook. She started yapping about how exciting the game was going to be. I got the waffles out of the toaster, and after a while, we sat down to eat breakfast."Do you still have the jersey we bought last time?" Camila asked.
"Yes, I do. I bought the number 7, Vinicius Junior, remember?"
"Girl, no! I knew you wouldn't get his name and number, so I got a surprise for you," she said, standing up. Camila went to the spare bedroom and came back with another Real Madrid jersey. She turned it around, revealing the number 5 for Bellingham.I instantly rolled my eyes as she laughed at my reaction.
"I'm not wearing that," I said.
"You don't have a choice. I didn't just waste €115 for nothing. You're going to wear it, whether you like it or not!" she teased.
"Nobody asked you to buy it," I mumbled, feeling annoyed as I stood up to wash the dishes. It wasn't that I disliked the shirt; I just knew the fan girls at the game would assume Jude and I were dating, which wasn't true at all.Camila kept begging me to wear the shirt while we were getting ready.
"TORYYYYY, PLEASE! I'M BEGGING! MY ANCESTORS ARE EVEN BEGGING!" she begged dramatically while we did our hair.
I eventually gave in because I was tired of hearing about it. We started doing our makeup, blasting more music, of course. The neighbors shouted at us—again! Like damnn can't a girl enjoy some music? It took us about 40 minutes to get ready, and by then, our cab was waiting outside my apartment.I finally put on the Bellingham shirt after Camila's relentless begging and threats. Now, we're on our way to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. We had VIP tickets and were going to sit in the box with Jude's family. Jobe and his dad had extended their stay in Madrid, so they were joining us.
The cab dropped us off at the back of the stadium. Camila was practically screaming, excited because I knew one of the players.
"Girl, let's go. We're already late. The game starts in three minutes!" I said, and she nodded. We finally made it to the box where they had food and drinks. Camila and I walked over to the seats and greeted Denise and Mark with hugs. Camila shook their hands and asked where Jobe was.
"He went to the bathroom," Mark replied. The announcer's voice soared through the speakers, signaling that the game was about to start. The players walked out of the tunnel with serious faces, which made me want to laugh, but I kept my cool. Jobe returned from the bathroom and chuckled, "I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Yeah, I came to support. Were you taking a dump?" I teased. He rolled his eyes and took a seat beside Camila. The game began, and as much as I tried to relax, I was on edge every time the opponents neared Real Madrid's goal. The first half ended with Atletico leading 1-0. I hoped Real Madrid would make a comeback—they usually do. Even though I still don't understand what offside means, I could feel the tension building in the box as the second half started. And the crowd going crazy. Camila and Jobe were practically falling out of their seats.
