Na'Nung🛹
GAG. DISGUSTING. REPULSIVE. Why do I not feel any of those feelings when Ao'nung jokes about making us kiss? Well.... Disgusted might be the closest one I feel. But still. I should feel all those and more whenever Nat'Lyn is mentioned. Even saying her name makes me irked. It's like her parents named her that just to tick me off. Na'Nung and Nat'Lyn? She literally stole my name!
After hanging out with my cousins and their new friends before school, the fight Nat'Lyn and I had was still in my mind. Maybe it was the way she scoffed at my achievements or the way her eyes filled with satisfaction when she got a hit on my ego. Or maybe it was the way her entire mood spun 360 when I mentioned her parents.
Was that a low blow for me? Yeah. Did I mean what I said? ...Probably not? No, I did. I definitely did. I hate her. I hate her stupid voice and her stupid remarks and her stupid, stupid face. Ughhhhhh, I HATE HER!
I pack up and notebook and pen, swinging my backpack over my shoulders and putting my headphones on. As I walk out, I immediately spot Tsireya and one of the new kids talking to Na'Tok in the hallway. You've got to be kidding me.
"You know where home is-" I smack the back of his head before he could finish that cringe sentence. I hate him too. More than Nat'Lyn, which is surprising since my hatred for her is usually unmatched. Na'Tok is one of the people who me and her both mutually dislike. That makes me hate him even more.
"Quit harassing my cousin, Mahōe." I emphasize the last part of his last name, because as it suggests, he's a hoe. Knowing him, I'd better be quick and take these two away before he can throw a tantrum. I usher Tsireya and.... LoLo away? I don't know his name. I was too busy paying attention to Nat'Lyn's stupid side comments to remember any of their introductions. Pretty sure his name was Lo'jack.
"Thanks Na'." I can hear Tsireya's voice through my headphones. Usually I'd play music but I had forgotten due to that hallway situation these two were in. I nodded and hummed a response, taking my headphones off my ears and resting them on my neck before speaking again.
"Don't talk to him. He's just going to try and drag you back." She slightly nods while I turn to Lo'jack.I study his face. He looks alright. His brother looks kinder but he looks decent enough. I remember back to the way he stood in front of Tsireya while they talked to Na'Tok, guarding her, protecting her.
"Lo'jack, right?" He nods and I mentally pat myself on the back for getting his name right. Gosh, I'm awesome. I turn my head back to Tsireya, noticing her clear nervous give-aways. The nervously playing with her fingers, the slight tilt of her head, the flush color on the tips of her ears. Poor girl.
"Stick with him. Don't walk around alone." She nods more clearly this time as we stop in front of their next class. I bid them goodbye before heading to my class with a few minutes to spare. Choosing AP Statistics this year meant being able to brag about being smart. It also meant that I could fly through this class easily and have time to sleep.
When I finally get past the crowd at the door, I immediately want to get back out when I see the pair of devil eyes sitting near the front of the room. Nat'Lyn fucking Kahale sits perched up in her desk, reading some lame ass book while I mentally kill myself at the sight of her.
Her hair is now up in a disgusting bun, leaving strands of hair all around her head. She had her glasses on, looking more goofy than ever. What a fucking nerd.
As she flips to the next page, she pushes her glasses and her eyes dart up. She looks back down at her book but does a fast retake and looks up again, at me. Her face drops like she's just seen a monster and she lets her book drop on her desk. Her reaction was clear, the words forming in the lines of her face. "Fuck..."
