The Ice Age Adventures Of Crash & Eddie:

The Meltdown:

- One Month Later.

Crash winced as he was splashed with water from the ocean that lay a few feet away from where he was sitting.

He looked up and saw Zara and Zakai splashing about in the waves, screaming and wrestling playfully. (Though in Zara's case it seemed she was trying to drown Zakai).

Crash rolled his eyes and called out to the white furred possum. "Zara, who said you could torture your best friend?".

Zara groaned and released Zakai from the headlock she had him in, causing him to yelp as he landed face first in the salty water.

Once he resurfaced a second later he growled and shoved Zara, causing her to also fall down into the waves.

Crash sighed at his friends' antics but put on a smile as he looked down at JJ, who was drawing in the sand with his little paws.

"Having fun little man?". He asked with a giggle.

"Yeah!". JJ exclaimed, kicking his little legs into the sand playfully.

"Crash? We got a problem". Diego suddenly called out.

"What -?". Crash cut himself off as he saw the source of Diego's concern.

Zakai had apparently gotten bored with messing around in the ocean and had scaled a cliff about half a mile down the island, his tiny form just barely visible from so high up.

"Zak don't move, I'm coming up there!". Crash yelled as he and Diego booked it across the sand.

Zakai was rearing back to jump as Crash scaled the cliff side and grabbed his tail at the last second.

They stayed silent for a few minutes while Crash held Zakai by the tail and dragged him back to the center of the beach where Eddie hugged him tightly.

"What's wrong with you?". Eddie asked his mate in disbelief, his tone akin to the one that Ellie used to use on him and Crash when their pranks got out of hand.

"You guys need to start showing me some respect, you always act like you can't trust me". Zakai argued.

"Zak, last month we had to rescue you from a T - Rex cause you took her babies". Sid cut in bluntly.

"I said I was sorry, can't we let it go already?". Zakai asked in an agitated tone. "And didn't you literally do the exact same thing at one point?"

"Considering Crash literally died at one point, no we can't just let it go". Eddie replied whilst rolling his eyes.

Diego opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by a huge piece of ice splitting off the side of an iceberg and landing into the sea on the snowy side of the continent.

Crash quickly held JJ to his chest as he saw how the water levels had suddenly risen and a wave was coming directly towards their side of the continent.

Once the herd had made it to the ice side of the continent they watched as the place they had called home for over two years was destroyed by the wave.

"What in the animal kingdom just happened?". Zakai asked nervously, clinging to Eddie's arm.

"The ice is melting... again". Eddie replied, looking towards the huge ice wall to his right side.

Crash nodded. "Once that wall breaks half of the cove is gonna end up underwater".

"Don't you mean if it breaks? Maybe the rest of it will just stay put". Zara tried to say hopefully.

Unfortunately the wall chose that moment to break again, sending a small wave towards the ice side of the continent, where it thankfully fizzled out before it could reach land.
