17-Years-Old
Yoongi was looking at himself in the mirror when his mother entered his room.
"Oh, Yoongi," she said, and Yoongi watched as tears filled her eyes. "You look just as handsome as you did the first time you wore this suit."
Yoongi managed a small smile. "Thanks, mom."
It was two years after he and Aera's first conversation about it, and Yoongi's promise to attend prom was finally about to be fulfilled.
"You know," his mother said suddenly. "I'm so glad you and Aera are going together. But, I can't believe no one else has snatched you up. You're handsome and kind and everything a girl dreams of. What's wrong with those girls at your school?"
"Mom," Yoongi said, embarrassed. "Stop."
His mother chuckled. "I'm just saying."
Yoongi shook his head, though a small smile graced his lips. "Thanks, mom."
"So, does Aera know how you're picking her up?"
"No," Yoongi replied. "I wanted it to be a surprise."
"She'll definitely be surprised! I still can't believe you managed to save up enough money to pull this off."
Yoongi smiled again. "Prom means a lot to Aera. I want the whole night to be special for her."
Yoongi's mother took his face into her hands. "You're the sweetest, my Yoongi. I have no doubt tonight will be special for both of you."
"You know, I think so, too."

Yoongi was sat in the back of the limousine as it pulled up to Aera's house. Before he got out to get her, he sat there for a few long moments, suddenly feeling nervous. He wasn't sure why, but it was an inexplicable feeling he couldn't shake. Finally, he took a deep breath and exited the luxury car.
He knocked on Aera's door and waited, holding the corsage he'd picked out for her. She hadn't told him what color her dress was, so he'd chosen a white lily. He figured white would go with any color.
Suddenly, the door opened and there stood Aera, in the same beautiful green gown she'd worn a couple of years earlier. And once again, Yoongi's breath caught in his throat. Her hair was halfway in an updo, and the rest of it flowed down her back in waves.
Her makeup was done, and though it was different, it still complimented her dress and highlighted her natural features.
And once again, all Yoongi could do was stare.
"Hi," Aera said shyly.
Yoongi was shaken from his trance. "Uh, h-hi."
"You look handsome."
"Thank you. You look beautiful."
Aera's cheeks turned pink. "Thank you."
"I, uh...I don't really know how this works," Yoongi said, holding out the corsage.
Aera giggled. "It's okay, I do." She took the container from him and carefully opened it and lifted the flower from it. She slid it over her wrist and admired it.
"A Lily. My favorite."
Yoongi nodded. He'd remembered it was her favorite from years before.
"So," Yoongi said, holding out his hand. "You ready to go?"
