Y/n's pov-
After 2 weeks of the most intense training I have ever gone through the day of the sports festival was finally here. We were currently all gathered in 1-a's waiting room preparing for our entrance.
"Aww man, I wanted to wear my costume." Mina whined looking at herself in the mirror at her gym uniform.
"To keep everything fair, we can't." Ojiro stated stretching out his arms.
"I wonder what the first round's gonna be..." Sato questioned clearly nervous.
"No matter what it is we have no choice but to deal with it." Tokoyami added.
If we're being honest with ourselves I was super nervous, I mean this wasn't some school assembly you had to talk in front of. This was competing for the top 3 out of 11 different classes on national t.v. It was not something to take lightly. I decided to meditate while in the waiting room, getting rid of every thought and voice. I sat in the corner hoping nobody would try and bother me but of course class rep Iida burst's through the door.
"Everyone! Get your game faces on! We will be entering the arena soon!" Iida yelled swinging the door open. Annoyed I stood up and walked over to where everyone else was at tables and stood with my hands in my pockets.
"Midoriya." My brother blurted out walking up to the green haired boy. I turned my head to face them trying to listen. He had been acting more stand off-ish then usual since we got here, I assumed it was the pressure due to the festival.
"Todoroki? What is it?" Midoriya questioned as he turned to look up at Shoto. It seemed to catch everyone else's attention as well.
"From an objective standing I think I'm fairly stronger than you." Sho said completely monotone.
"Huh? Yeah..." Midoriya lowered his head a little still keeping eye contact with him but clearly getting insecure.
"However, you have All Might in your corner helping you out. I'm not here to pry about what's going on between you two, but know that I will beat you." Midoriya seemed to get even more nervous. I was about to go and get in between them but someone else spoke up.
"Whoa what's with all the declaration's of war lately?" Kaminari joked.
"Hey hey hey, what's the big deal? Why you picking a fight all of a sudden?" Kirishima stood up and put his hand on Sho's shoulder to which he shrugged it off.
"We're not here to be friends. Don't forget this isn't a team effort." He walked away trying to head out the door.
"Todoroki. Wait up." Midoriya calls after my brother.
"I don't know what's going through you head or why you think you'll need to tell me that you'll beat me and yeah of course you're better than me. In fact I think you and your sister have more potential than anyone in the hero course. Which is why you both got in so easily." I rolled my eyes at him saying it was 'easy' yeah I got in on recommendations but the training was not fucking easy.
"Midobro, maybe your being to hard on yourself and us." Kirishima said trying to de-escalate the situation.
"No. He's right you guys. All the other courses, their coming for us with everything they've got. We're all gonna have to fight to stand out. And I'll be aiming for the top to." Midoriya said gaining more confidence in himself.
"Fine." was all Shoto said before turning and leaving. Everyone just kind of stood there not knowing what to do or say. I sighed and walked out to go after Shoto to come up with a plan. I walked down the halls trying to find him and I eventually found him waiting by the entrance.
