*Brooke's POV*

I collapsed onto my bed, and Hayes flopped down beside me, "That food was incredible," he hummed, pulling me into his side. I nuzzled my face into his neck. I didn't need the presents or the expensive lunch, I would've been fine just watching Netflix with some friends. My friends.

"I haven't seen Mack," I whispered, did she forget?

"Don't worry, baby," he rubbed his hand up and down my arm, "I made a group message with your number, so everyone will know it's you."

I stretched for my purse, squirming out of his grip.

"Brooke, stay," he whined, into the top of my head, and I rolled my eyes.

I successfully reached my phone, and checked my messages. I saw texts from friends and family, who I assume my mom gave my number to. I replied to everyone, and went on to check my Instagram. I did an appropriate amount of stalking to find my friend's accounts, and followed suit with Twitter. I felt a pair of eyes on me, and I saw Hayes examining me.

"Can I help you?" I teased him, amused. He said nothing, but pulled me in for a kiss. I smiled into the kiss, and realized how right this felt.

We heard a crash, and Hayes groaned, "Damn," we sat up.

"We're the only ones home, who could it be?" His eyes widened. Seriously.

"You're an idiot," I rolled my eyes, "It's just the dog," I laughed, as he grew crimson.

I walked out of the bedroom, and pulled Hayes up with me.

"Duke!" I slid out my phone, and took a picture of the puppy stuck halfway through the doggy door, covered in mud. I sighed, trying not to giggle.

"I'm going to change, because I don't really want to get this dress dirty, and you go get some of the boy's clothes." He nodded and I slipped on a pair of spandex, and an old soccer t shirt. I sat in front of my vanity, and threw my hair up into a messy bun, clutching my phone, and making pouty faces at the puppy. He began thumping his tail against the door as I grew closer, I couldn't see his tail, but I could hear it. How'd he only make it half way through?

Hayes came up behind me, and wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing me on the cheek. At this point, it kind of looked like Duke was going to have a seizure, because he wanted to come over to us so badly. He wasn't in any pain, but I carefully reached through the door, and pulled him out.

"Why was he st-" I got cut off by a muddy puppy flailing out of my arms, and skidding across the dark hardwood floor. We both lunged after him, scolding until Hayes wrapped him up in his arms. As mad as I am about the mud tracked through the house, that was actually kind of fun.

*Hayes' POV*

I passed the muddy mess back to her, and she perched him on her shoulder, walking to the kitchen,

"Stay!" She commanded, placing him in the sink. "We need shampoo," she sighed.

"I'll go get some."

I ran to to the bag with the dog supplies and came back, passing it to her. I stood behind her, and wrapped my arms around her waist, watching her bathe the puppy. I rested my chin on her shoulder.

"You're going to help me dry him," she mumbled, and I nodded, placing a firm kiss to her jaw. I felt her smile, that smile, I love it like nothing else. Her teeth aren't completely straight, and maybe her skin isn't perfect, but somehow her flaws add to her appearance. She's beautiful, maybe because everything isn't symmetrical, or because she doesn't try to hide her imperfections. Yes, I know, she wears makeup, but I mean, she doesn't deny having flaws.
