*Brooke's POV*
Whoa, whoa, whoa, Nash thinks I like him? I thought he was just being friendly, but apparently he was flirting. Great, there's already drama. I don't like Nash, I literally just met him, and I thought he invited me over as a friend. Oh my gosh, now everyone is going to see that picture on Twitter. That's why the boys wanted to meet him, they thought I liked him. Sure, he gives my tummy a funny feeling, but it's because he's a new person, a very attractive, older one at that. I'm screwed, on my first day too. I probably shouldn't be listening to their conversation, but I only started listening about half way through. They both sounded mad, and in a flash I collided with Hayes. He helped me up, and apologized over and over. Then, he stared at me.
"How long have you been standing out here?" He asked, "Long enough to realize you aren't as rude as I thought," he grew red, and quickly pulled me to the side.
"I'm not going to lie, there's something special about you, but please, please stay away from Nash," he plead, "He hops from girl to girl, and he could seriously hurt you,"
I couldn't believe it, was all that true?
He sighed, "look, if you don't believe me, you can pretty much ask anyone at our school," he paused, and I began to whisper scream.
"I don't even like Nash, I thought he was just being friendly."
He quickly covered my mouth, "listen, I like you, and I don't want to see a sweet girl like you get hurt, you're different from the girls he usually goes after. I-just please don't let him hurt you," he said, scurrying off, back to Meredith.
I heard Nash opening and closing drawers aggressively, and I slowly worked up the courage to walk in there.
"Nash," I began, and he looked up at me, ticked off.
"What do you want?" He fumed, and I tried to let it go, "we need to talk," I said, placing my hand on his shoulder.
He shook it off, is he serious?
"Nash," I started, "Can you leave me alone?" He growled.
I stepped back, kind of scared now, "I'm going to tell you about myself, ok? I'm a player, and I'm not going to lie to you, at first I went up to you, because I'm currently looking for an easy hookup. I don't really care about being in a relationship, I just want to mess around. If you're down for that, then great. If not, we're strictly acquaintances," he finished off.
Ouch, that hurt.
I smiled bitterly, "See you later, acquaintance," and I walked out of his room, unsure of where to go.
Meredith passed by me, and mouthed "I'm sorry," as if she'd done something to me.
Wait, why was she leaving? I thought she was staying for dinner. I walked over to Hayes' room. I heard quiet crying coming from inside.
I knocked on the door, "Can I come in?"
I pictured him getting himself together, before answering yes. I walked in and shut the door, at his request.
"Mere, broke up with me," he laughed, kind of bitterly.
"I'm so sorry," I rubbed his back, "We were together for three months."
Ouch, poor Hayes, she seemed like she really liked him. At least, I thought so.
"Well, why'd she break up with you?"
I asked, probably not the best decision.
"Take a wild guess,"
I had no idea, until he pointed miserably down the hallway. Nash.
"Why would he do that to you? Oh my goodness, Hayes, I'm so sorry," all of the sudden he tackled me in a hug, and I complied.
I guess Nash really is a jerk.
"It's not even that I liked her so much, I was planning on breaking up with her. It's the fact that she cheated on me with my OLDER brother."
All of the sudden, he sat up.
"I'm not crying for her, I'm crying because of Nash."
My heart broke, and I pulled him up with me.
"You're going to be okay, I promise," he nodded, "Come on, let's have some fun," I grinned, mischievously.
*Hayes' POV*
I can't believe how much has happened in the past hour. About ten minutes ago, I finished eating dinner, and now Brooke and I are walking around the neighborhood.
All of the sudden, she smirked, "Let's get into trouble," she said, is she a bad girl? I figured she'd be a goodie goodie, who follows all the rules. She's going to be popular, she's already friends with Meredith and I, plus the boys are going to be wild about her.
"Earth to Hayes," she giggled, nudging me, "How about we go night swimming?" She smiled.
"Let's do it," she replied.
"Wait, I'm not done, we're going swimming in the lake," she didn't react, "After 9:30?you can't be at the lake on a Wednesday," her jaw dropped.
"Can we get arrested for that?" Her eyes widened, "Not when your uncle owns the lake."
It was starting to get really dark out, but we were just walking up and down the street.
"What should we tell our parents, do we lie?"
I paused, "It depends, do you want to invite anyone else," she shook her head, no.
"Let's just tell them we're going to the neighborhood pool," she nodded, and we parted ways as she disappeared into her house to change, and I sprinted upstairs to get ready.
"So, how was your walk," Nash sneered, as soon as I walked in.
"It was great," I said back sarcastically.
I heard Nash mumble rude words about her. I couldn't take it anymore. I turned around and punched him hard in the jaw, he stayed calm.
"You don't know anything about her, shut up," he tilted his head back, laughing, "and neither do you." I hate Nash Grier.
~ hey everyone, so I guess this is the first author's note😅, this is an account run by both my best friend and I. I also want to put it out there, that I love Nash, and I'm only making him rude for the sake of the story.~
