Rather than being undead, the common infected are living humans who have been infected by the Green Flu virus, causing massively increased aggression and loss of many higher brain functions such as speech and self-preservation. Like cinematic zombies, those present in the Left 4 Dead series attack human victims until they perish or kill their target.

Attack Potency: Athletic level (Able to break down doors in under a minute, easily able to rip through human flesh)
Speed: Average Human (Runs at full sprint though may be different from each infected. The average is around 26 km/h)

Striking Strength: Athlete level (Can rip through a door in under a minute. Their bite can kill a normal person in under an hour. Easily able to rip flesh)
Durability: Athlete level (Can take two shots from a Glock on body, though if hit on head it will die, and any hit with a melee will kill it)
Stamina: Effectively Infinite (They have not shown any sign of tiring, even after hours of fighting survivors)
Range: Standard Melee Range physically

Weakness: Weak to wounds to the head and melee weapons. Their virus only affects mammals. Slow reaction time.

•Can climb up buildings, and jump off of them with no notable injuries.

•Capable of breaking down doors just by banging and clawing at it.
