Third Person's POV

Naruto's House

It was a nice, cool evening in the  town of Konohagakure. The sun was setting, making the sky a shade of gold with a slight tinge of pink. People were milling about, taking in the cool fresh air and celebrating the end of exams by going to the Konoha fair, especially the students of Konoha Middle School.

Naruto and his friends, graduates of KMS, were bundled inside his room, studying for yet ANOTHER exam.

'WHY IS LIFE LIKE THIS, DATTEBAYO? WHY?!' Naruto whined, banging his fists down on his desk, unable to concentrate.

'Calm down, dobe. You're making my papers fall.' Sasuke grumbled, dropping to the floor.

'We JUST got done with those STUPID end-of-terms, and we have this now?' Kiba said, scratching his head as he looked down at the complicated formulas. 'Algebra just hit a whole new level.'

'If we want to get accepted into the high school, we need to work hard for the entrance exam,' Neji replied calmly, swatting a snoring Shikamaru on the head with his textbook. 'Besides, the exam is next week, and 50 % of the exam is going to come from the stuff that was taught to us in middle school.'

'Like I was going to keep that in my head! The minute the exams get over, I just empty out whatever's in my brain!'

'Yeah, we can see that...'

Naruto stuck out his tongue at Sasuke as he went back to reading dreary Shakespeare. Sasuke went back to solving calculus problems, Neji returned to his textbook, Kiba picked up biology, and Shikamaru reluctantly started on French.

When-

'BOYS!!' A hyperactive red-headed female wearing a white shirt and a green dress and a big grin burst into the room holding up a tray full of snacks. 'Hey there, my sweet little Barbie,' she said, ruffling Naruto's hair. The blond laughed, 'Kaa-chan! Cut it out!'

'Yeah, yeah. Working hard? Looks like it, dattebane,' Kushina announced, setting down plates of food in front of everyone. 'Arigato, Kushina-chan,' Sasuke muttered distractedly, shuffling through his papers. Everyone else mumbled the same as they continued to study.

Kushina viewed the atmosphere with her hands on her hips. She clapped her hands twice and said in a brisk tone, 'Chop chop! Put the books away! You need to eat properly, dattebane!' Everybody sighed and put down their books and began to eat, knowing it was pointless to argue. Well, everybody, except Neji.

Kushina raised an eyebrow.

'Neji-kun?'

'Yes?'

'Put the book down, please.'

'Five more minutes?'

'Don't make those puppy dog eyes at me. They never work.'

'Ok, Mrs. Uzumaki.'

Kushina gasped and Neji looked alarmed. 'Hyuuga Neji! I don't care with Hiashi taught you- in this house, you will ALWAYS call me Kushina! And that goes for ALL of you!'

Everybody nodded.

'OK, Kushina,' Naruto snickered.

'Do you want me to hurt you, my son?'

'No, ma'am.'

                                                                                    ****************

'Good of your mom to let us go out.' Kiba said. They all took in a deep breath of the fresh air as they headed down to the fair.

'I needed a break from studying. This is all so stressing.' Naruto replied.

'I wonder what the girls are doing now.' Neji said. 'They must be studying their asses off. What else will they do? If they saw us now, they would kill us.' Kiba snorted.

AT SAKURA'S HOUSE

'YES! I'm finally done with Physics. I can concentrate on something else now!' Sakura said.

Hinata looked up from her literature notes and turned to Tenten. 'Is your break over soon?'

Tenten opened her eyes. She got up and sighed as she got out her biology book. 'Now it is.'

The girls were working hard, unlike the boys. They were actually handling everything pretty well. 'Let's call it a day.' Ino said, closing her books.

'Who wants to go down to the fair?'

'ME!' They all yelled.

                                          ******************************************

'Is it likely that we may meet those boys here?' Ino said. 'Very.' Tenten nodded. 'They probably didn't even study and gave up on everything altogether.' Sakura added. 'Sounds like them.'

They walked in silence for a while.

'You know, it's also very likely that we may all end up in KHS together. We should start to get to know them better. I know we already know them from that 3 month curriculum thing, but still.' Tenten said.

Sakura sighed. 'I hate to say it, but you're right.' Hinata looked at her friend. 'You still like Sasuke, right?' Sakura nodded. 'But I'm going to redeem myself. I'm not going to be the same little girl who fangirled over Sasuke. I'm going to get a fresh start. And that's going to start with me cutting my hair.'

'WHAT?!' They all yelled. Sakura grinned at them. 'Yep. I think I would look cute in short hair.' Ino shook herself out of her shock. 'That, you would, Billboard Brow.'

'You should consider cutting your hair too, Ino-pig.'

'Not in a million years.'

'Worth a try.'

As they all enjoyed themselves, they would never realize what was coming. Not the drama, the tension and romance that they would have to endure. Nothing.

This is gonna be one hell of a story.
