Chapter-9

TEMARI'S POV

I woke up to the bright sunlight filtering in through my open window. I yawned and looked at the time. I squealed out loud when I realized it was 9:00 a.m. I was supposed to wake up at 6:00 for my first day at Suna High! Had everyone forgotten?!

I sat up, stretched and found a note on my bedside table. I picked it up and began to read.

Dear Temari-san,

You must be confused regarding the recent development of you not going to school, however I have something rather important to discuss with you. I won't say anymore now, I would like to speak to you in person regarding the matter. Come to your late father's office at 11:00 a.m. sharp. Bring your brothers as well.

And remember, I've known you since you were a little girl. You might not like the location, but do NOT try to avoid this. You're coming whether you like it or not. I've made sure of it.

I blinked then sighed. What the hell did Baki want now? I got up and went out into the balcony. A cool gust of wind blew as I looked down at the town of Sonohagakure.

I took a bath and got dressed.

After that, I walked to my twin, Kankuro's room. I knocked on his door, 'Kankuro?'

No answer.

I sighed and barged inside to see Kankuro bare-chested and applying his face paint.

'Oi! What gives?! You can't just barge in whenever you want!'

'I am older than you and basically your guardian since Do-san's dead, so I can do whatever I want.'

'You're only two minutes older!'

'But I'm old nevertheless.'

I tried to stifle my laughter as I watched him apply his face paint.

'Oi, are you going to keep staring at me?'

'Ew, Kankuro. Just gross. Get down quick. Baki's coming.'

Kankuro's head immediately snapped to me. I gave him a blank look and he just sighed and looked away. 'I'll be there. You'd better go check on Gaara.' He muttered, as he picked up his face paint. 'Yeah...' I murmured.

I walked to Gaara's room, paused outside the door and bit my lip, then walked in. Gaara was standing in the balcony, staring at nothing in general.

'Ohayo, Temari. How are you?'

'How did you sleep last night?'

Gaara immediately hid his face from me, but I'd already seen the dark circles under his eyes. I sighed. He hadn't been sleeping again. I was getting worried.

'Just...just come down to breakfast. Baki's coming over.'

Gaara suddenly turned stiff, but relaxed just as quickly, 'Hai.'

I walked down the stairs, and stopped by my favorite photo. The one we had taken in Konoha with Naruto, Sasuke, Tenten, Hinata, Ino and Sakura. There had just been something bugging me a lot. It suddenly hit me that I had dreamed about them last night. Why did I have such a strong feeling that I was going to see them again? My thoughts shattered when Kankuro ran down the stairs beside me, with Gaara's pet raccoon, Shukaku in pursuit.

'SHUKAKU!! STOP FOLLOWING ME!!'

Gaara calmly walked down the stairs after him, his arms crossed. I sighed and followed him.
