Something - Chapter 3

I wander in the void. I completate on my life. I hear something. Someone. Someone is here. I hear walking.

"Who is there?" my voice echoes throughout the void.

"Come on. don't you know how to greet an old pal?" The man states in a deep voice. I slash my knife at him. The person.. no, monster doges. There is only once monster I know who can doge.

"Sans?" I screamed out. "Are you really there? Or have I gone insane?" I can't see anything in the darkness. I use my soul as a light source. I can make out a figure.

"sorry kid but I'm not sans."

I become silent. "Then who.. are you?"

"or atleast not the sans you know." His voice gets quiet. "kid this is going to be a lot."

"Do not call me kid! I have been dead for decades. And I have a name you know?" I yell out to him.

"okay. Chara then. I have some explaining I have to do."

How does he know my name? I have been dead for decades. Unless someone told him about my story. "Explain everything at once! I will not hesitate to dust you!" I point my knife at him despite me not knowing how to fight monsters. I mean I have been in fights but that was decades ago... with humans.

He comes closer. I get a look of him in the light. He's a copy of Sans! But younger... This mystery copycat is wearing different clothes. He has a green hoodie instead of the blue one I remember. Along with the sweater are a gray sweater and sweatpants. This Sans copycat is even wearing proper shoes. I notice his scars and broken bits on his body. He starts to explain the situation.

"you are aware with the timelines and resets, correct? according to my knowledge, everytime you have been pressing the reset button has created a new timeline or brought back an erased one."

I stare back at him. What. I press the button multiple times a day. "But that means that.."

"yes Chara. there is over 6,000 timelines you created or brought back to life." This information breaks me for a second. I have been stuck here for who knows how long. But the reset was working just in my timeline.

"Then tell me. Why wasn't it working here?"

"because you're głítçhéd Chara."

"Głìtçhéd? What does that even mean?" Głìtçhéd? Like a game? That's sounds absolutely ridiculous and impossible.

"I don't know what would happened to you if you left this timeline."

"So you are able to leave?" Oh how curious. Others have the ability to go how they please.

"yes I can. I come from one of the timelines you created. some of them are very close to the original universe and timelines. others become into something new."

"So you're name isn't Sans?"

"no. my name is dax." I started laughing. This Dax's name is so idiotic. "what's so funny?"

"Your name that's what. It's so idiotic."

"you picked it." What is he talking about? There is no way I could even do that. I have been stuck here with no interaction for years.

"That does not make any sense. First, you look way older than I have been stuck here. Second, I don't know you. Third, I would never pick that name."

"ouch. I am only 17. I get it I am a skeleton but I am not that old. timelines' time works differently in a confusing way. so you have been stuck here while had my life. so how old are you Chara?"

"I am 15! Isn't that obvious?" I look at myself. I look 15 to me.

"well you have been dead for decades. then been in here for around 6 years. Frisk's resets happened for about 3. so aren't you around 123 years old."

"I have not aged! I only age as a human! And because of dehydration and starvation I have been in my ghost form."

"oh. let me get you food and water. you should have told me. I swear I will come right back." Dax goes through what appears to be a portal. He disappears before I can try to escape.

Everything is so confusing. I don't understand the timelines and universes. I can't think. My mind is jumbled. I wait for him to come back.
