Questions - Chapter 5

POV: Chara
"So.. I have a lot of questions." I stand up to show I am serious.

"uhh. what kind of questions? because I don't have the answers to everything."

"Where are my family and friends? Are they okay...? Or are they really gone?"

"sorry, Chara. I don't know which timeline they are in or if they are erased. i've been to countless of timelines and all of them have a Chara and Frisk."

"Oh." I feel breathless. I don't want to believe that they are really gone. "Do you think I could try to leave?" I want to be free of this. I want to explore my surroundings.

"I am not sure. I don't think that is something you should try out. you are głítçhéd. I have no idea. but I believe you would be trapped here by a barrier or unable to leave."

"You said there are many timelines, correct? Is there more to it? Because I do not quite understand them. Do we live different lives in them?"

"yes. there is over a billion timelines. some are in alternate universes. there are even multiverses. all of them are connected. some timelines have the smallest changes, other may be completely different. for example, in one timeline you might have dark brown hair. in another, you might have never been to the underground or even meet monsters."

"Woah. That's amazing but terrifying. But alternate universes? Tell me more about that." I mean how is any of this possible. Everything in my life seems unreal.

"same thing applies to alternate universes. some are drastically different and some are not. in one alternate universe, all of the underground citizens' personalities are switched. in another you and Frisk do not exist."

"So which alternate universe are you from?" I stare at him. He doesnt look all that different from my timeline's Sans."

"actually. the same as you but a different timeline. our universe came from the original one. it doesn't have a name yet. slowly the timeline you are in created it's own universe. your timeline is at the center of this universe. since it created it." I hear him mumble something else but couldn't catch it. I feel confusion again. I am getting sick about resets and timelines.

"we must figure out how your situation works. being głítçhéd with determination means you are not bounded by the universe rules. or that's what I believe according to my research. I am sure you have a lot to figure out about yourself. so let's get started." He stands up and reaches his hand out. I get up as well without his help. I am not sure if I can even trust him. But he is all that I know. He's the only one with information. I sense there is much more to come in the future.
