Forward - Chapter 6

This new cycle goes on for a few days. Dax comes and goes. We chat while he brings me food and water.  He opens the portal to leave. I run towards the portal. Dax teleports in front of me.

"Chara! what do you think you are doing?" Trying to escape obviously. I pull on the knife. "Chara, no! we are not going to fight! just listen to me."

"And just let me out!" I slash my knife at him. He dodges. He turns my soul blue. Suddenly I am thrown on the ground. My knife falls out of my hand.

"sorry. I have to go." I run through the portal.
There is a force pulling me back. I can see myself głítçhïñg out. Once again I am thrown back with a ton of force. This time it actually hurts. I feel breathless. "are you okay?! I did not expect you to be able to go through." I stand up. There is a chance.

"Let me try again." I feel determined.

"what? why would you want to do that?"

"There is a chance. A chance for freedom. With enough force, I will be able to pass through."

"If you are so sure, go for it." He opens a portal. But it looks different than before. Instead of greenery, there are stars. It's so beautiful.

"Give me a boost!" I stared back at him.

"what? how would I do that?"

"Use blue magic and lunge me foward."

"Chara. this could be dangerous."

"Dax. I don't care about that. I want to be free."

I run forward. I start głítçhïñg out. Dax lunges me foward. I get thrown back in the void. It hurts.

"Chara you are going to hurt yourself."

"Just try again!" I start running even faster. Dax uses his magic once again. Failure. And more failure.

"Chara it's been an hour. I do not believe this will work. I am sorry."

"I need to try again. This time it will work."

"okay but this is the last time. I am serious." I am determined to not be bounded to this emptiness void. I sprint towards that beautiful world.

"Dax now!" Dax turns my soul blue. He lunges me forward. I start głítçhïñg out. I think about the stars. Oh! How I miss stars. How I miss everything. I held on to my locket. I am filled with my own hopes and dreams. If Frisk can lift a barrier, I can break my own. The force pulls me back. I force myself forward. I miss mom and dad. I miss Asriel. I feel my body shaking. I force myself to walk more. I fall on the ground. I start crawling and using the ground. I grab onto plantlife and rocks. Pulling myself forward. The głítçhïñg becomes overwhelming. Then it stops. I feel light. I feel free. I am able to stand. The weight has been lifted. I broke free.

"Dax.. the stars are beautiful." He stares at me. He looks confused but amazed.

Dax walks in my direction, through the portal. "I knew you were special. but wow. you're limits are endless. that determination is something special."
