OUTER BANKS PARADISE ON EARTH
Two Tribes. One Island.

Day 8
What do you do to calm yourself down?
Need a distraction or just want to avoid stress?
Most would meet with their friends.

But Blair wouldn't do that.

Of course she loves all her friends but there is one thing that can calm her down much more than meeting up with friends and talking about her problems. Tennis.
Just hit the tennis ball and forget your problems for a moment.
Don't have to talk to anyone.
No one annoys you. Alone.

Blair has been playing tennis her whole life.
Since Susannah took her to the country club and just sent her to the tennis court to play with her toys. She was three years old when she stood on the tennis court for the first time.

The neon yellow tennis balls immediately fascinated Blair and since she was six years old, she has been playing tennis. The other Kooks she knows play golf over there on the golf course. But she doesn't like golf at all. Tennis is much better. Golf is boring.
You look after a golf ball that flies several meters away. It doesn't make sense to her.

The country club is still pretty empty at this time. Most people don't come until noon and that's not in an hour and a half. Enough time to play tennis in peace.
Layne, Blair's tennis buddy and coach at the same time stands on the other side of the net and is making the serve.

There are already some balls behind Blair that she didn't hit and that frustrates her even more.

Blair stands impatiently on the other side of the court. The tennis racket firmly in her hand and she waits for the ball to fly to her. Then she sees the ball and hits it over again. Her legs don't stand still. Today Layne makes it extra difficult for her.

"Come on Blair, I know you can do better." He calls her and hits the ball over the net. Blair runs and makes a lunge and hopes that she'll hit the ball.

Her white Adidas shoes squeak on the red floor.

"Come one Blair!" Layne reaped and throws his arms in the air for a second. Blair has to run to the other side of the field at that moment. She hits the ball. Again just barely. "Goddamn it." Blair breathes heavily and watches as the ball moves back to Layne.
