I woke up to the warm sensation of someone holding me from behind. It took me a moment to fully register where I was and who it was, but the familiar scent of her perfume and the gentle rhythm of her breath on the back of my neck told me everything I needed to know. Ling. She was being the big spoon, and I was the small one.

I smiled to myself, feeling an unexpected warmth in my chest at the way her arms held me securely, protectively. It wasn't the first time we had fallen asleep together, but waking up like this, with her wrapped around me, felt different. There was something undeniably intimate about the way our bodies fit so perfectly together.

"Ling," I whispered softly, not wanting to disturb the peaceful moment but needing to acknowledge it somehow.

She responded by kissing my cheek gently, her lips lingering for a moment longer than necessary. The simple gesture made my heart flutter, and I felt her tighten her hold on me, pulling me closer against her.

"I-I missed you," she admitted, her voice low and slightly hesitant, as if she wasn't used to saying such vulnerable things.

I was caught off guard by her words. Ling wasn't usually the type to express her feelings so openly, especially not first thing in the morning. It took me a second to process what she had said, and I quickly turned to face her, my surprise evident.

"Wait, seriously?" I asked, searching her eyes to see if she was teasing me.

Ling's gaze softened, and she nodded. "Yeah. Did you miss me?"

A wave of warmth washed over me at her question. How could I not have missed her? With her teasing, her playful affection, the way she made everything seem lighter? I was completely captivated by her.

"Oh my god, of course I did," I said, my voice filled with sincerity.

She smiled, a genuine, sweet smile that reached her eyes. "Orm," she started, her tone shifting to something more serious, "we've known each other for a few months now..."

"Yeah," I agreed, my heart suddenly beating a little faster, wondering where this conversation was going.

"I was wondering—" she began, but just as she was about to continue, someone knocked on the door.

We both groaned, and I reluctantly pulled away from her warmth. "Go check," I said, giving her a nudge.

Ling sighed, but she let go of me and stood up, walking over to the door. I watched her for a moment, admiring the way she moved with that natural grace of hers. But when I saw her start chatting at the door with someone, I felt an unexpected pang of jealousy rise up in my chest. I wasn't usually the possessive type, but something about seeing her so engaged in conversation with someone else—especially when we had been in such a vulnerable moment—stirred something inside me.

Curiosity, and a touch of irritation, got the better of me, so I stood up and made my way over to her. As I approached, I saw that the person on the other side of the door was a girl, and that only made my irritation grow. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around Ling from behind, hugging her possessively as if to claim my space beside her.

Ling looked over her shoulder at me, raising an amused eyebrow at my sudden display of affection. "O-Orm," she said, clearly taken aback. "This is my sister, Freen."

I blinked, my annoyance immediately evaporating as I processed her words. "Wait, your sister?" I asked, feeling more than a little foolish for my earlier reaction.

"Yes," Ling said, chuckling softly at my confusion. Freen, for her part, just smiled politely.

Before I could say anything else, Freen turned to me and asked, "Do you know a girl called Rebecca Armstrong?"
