"How did you meet Lando?" Magui asked Tala. They were in the McLaren garage, the race was about to start in under an hour. Lando had left the two of them together to go talk to his engineers that was right across.

"Uh," She fiddled with the acrylic nail on her thumb, "I met him at the race in Australia with my mom." Tala couldn't help but feel like that day was damning to her life now.

"Oh," Magui turned away from her and over to Lando, "I wasn't at that one."

She hummed, unsure about how to respond to that. "How did you meet him?" Tala asked, genuinely curious.

"Mutual friends about a year ago," She could see the remembrance in Magui's eyes, "We started off as friends and then slowly became more."

"Wow," Tala could feel anger boiling inside of her, it was not because of Magui, it was because of Lando for putting her in an impossible situation with one of his lovers, "You two do look good together."

"Thank you," Magui turned back to her smiling with her hand on her chest, "I wish his fans felt the same, they hate me." Tala caught Magui roll her eyes at the word fans.

"I'm sure they will eventually come to like you once they get to really know you," Tala tried to sympathize with the blonde haired girl.

"Yeah, I hope so, they don't really have a choice though," Magui's smile dropped, "because I'm not letting him go for anyone." She almost shuddered at Magui's intensely serious tone.

Tala just fearfully nodded at her and immediately looked down at her phone when Lando started to approach them. "You okay baby?" Magui's tone had switched to a lighter and sweeter sound.

"Yeah just some changes to our strategies but all is good," He led his eyes away from Magui's attentive gaze and over to Tala's downturned head. He was playing a dangerous game, but he did not care. "Tala, can you get my phone in my changing room?"
