Chapter 2

“Natalie, what about this top? I asked holding it up

"It's perfect' she squealed loudly

I watched her take the shirt and rush off into the changing rooms. It was then I over heard a few women talking.

"Can you believe she has a child?" An older lady asked

"Todays future is horrible" The lady next to her responded.

"She’s not my kid" I snapped at the women

The women looked down and left the store looking taken back.

“Wint, what do ya think?” Nat asked walking out of the dressing rooms.

“Oh Natalie it's perfect! I gasped

The beautiful white lace top went absolutely perfect with Nats dark skin tone.

Winter I'm hungry! Snows link rang out loud even though we just met a mere 3 hours ago. I felt like me and these kids were meant to be together. I knew this was meant to be.

Snow, Matt, and Nate went to gap to pick out some clothes. I had given the kids a credit card and they ran off for new clothes. It was only one store over and I really wanted to bond with Natalie.

"Ok kiddo once we pay its food time" I linked back

Yes!! I heard the kids link back.

As Nat and I walked to the register I asked her a question to start to loosen her up

Natalie when's the last time you all had a proper meal?

Probably 3 days she sighed

“Wait here for one second” I called walking out of the line

I walked over to a baby clothes rack and grabbed a couple outfits for Hadley. 2 Jammie's, 4 outfits, 3 pairs of socks and shoes, and a little dress for her. I wanted to take the kids somewhere special to eat.

"Winter hurry up its almost time to pay" Nats link rang

“Coming Natalie” I linked back

I walked up to the cash register and put up the baby clothes on the register

“Hadley will look adorable!” Natalie exclaimed eyeing the dress

“Only the best for this angel" I said looking down at Hadley

I paid the cashier and we made our way out of the store.

"Snow" I called from the outside of gap.

"Wint!" She yelled running over to me

"How was shopping goofball?"

"I got lots of clothes, Matt and Nate got tired so I took over" she giggled

"Boys how could you ever get tired" I joked

"Let's get some food" Nate grumbled

"I want McDonalds!" Snow yelled

"No lets get Taco Bell" Matt responded

"I'm bringing you somewhere actually good" I smiled

"Where to Wint?" Snow asked

"Hm how about Olive Garden? The kids all gasped in surprise

"That's for rich people" Natalie whispers "We could never afford it

Geez these kids really haven't eaten well lately

"I've got the money now lets go" I said

"Are you sure Wint?

"Guys Olive Garden is not that fancy now lets go" I said

"What about Hadley" Nat asked

"I'll grab some formula on the way kids"

"Thank you Alpha"

"Alpha?"

"Yea we figured we could start our own pack" Matt called

"The Blue Thorn pack" I replied instantly

I felt my body tense up as I took the Alpha roll. I felt my eyes change color and my tattoo on my arm burned a bright red. I was an Alpha now. And a plus no other pack knew about us.

"Winter what happened" Snow whimpered

"I'm Alpha now" I whispered

"Yay!! I knew you could do it Winter!"

"Let's go eat I said straightening up"

I felt so powerful I could feel Alpha power rolling over me

"Finally" Nate grumbled

I smiled and started to walk to the car.

"Kids we need a plan in case something ever happens to one of us" I said starting the car

"I can fight" Matt called "I was trained to be a warrior"

"Perfect Matt" he beamed with delight when I said that

"I used to be the tracker" Nate whispered

"He's really good" snow said pulling on my shirt Nate blushed and turned around.

"Guess what I can do, Winter"?

"I can hunt!!, like super well watch this" Snow got on the floor I the car and jumped on a straw

"See Winter!?"

"Very nice Snow" I said applauding

"Natalie you got anything" I asked

“Me well don't mean to brag but I'm trained as a pack doctor” Natalie giggled

“We have got the best pack ever” I said smiling

I pulled into Olive Garden and parked as close as I could to the building. When we got out of the car I could hear all the kids excited chatter about being in a pack and getting some decent food.
